Chapter 4 - New Beginnings

Allen had a frown on his face as he glanced at Sarah and her aunt, who introduced herself as Rebecca.

"Thank you for protecting my niece. I must admit that when she told me a Demon had protected her, I didn't quite believe it."

Allen scratched the back of his head. "I have an offer. For both of the girls." He looked between Sarah and Sophia. "I want you girls to become my students."

Sarah and Sophia widened their eyes. Rebecca nodded.

"I approve of this proposition. You'll need Sophia's parents' permission, though. Don't worry about that too much, though. I'll give you my number and let you know what they say."

Allen shook his head. "I'll do that myself. Still, call them though. Have them come here."

Rebecca nodded.

Allen glanced at his would-be students. He had to do this. It was to keep them safe.

Sarah gave him a smile. Sophia smiled at him as well seconds later. Allen nodded at them, giving them a warm smile.

…..

Allen stood outside the Forest residence with Sophia's parents .

The mother had long brown hair and hazel eyes, while the father had raven hair and brown eyes.

"You want to teach our daughter how to control her power?" The father narrowed his eyes. "Why would you want to do a thing like that? I don't understand why you'd bother to go that far."

'I need them to trust me. Maybe I should tell them my true intentions.' Allen blinked once before telling them exactly what his goals and intentions were.

The parents widened their eyes. What he was saying was…it was unbelievable, but the pain in the boy's face was evident. Taking all of that into consideration, it was hard not to believe the boy.

"But why train the girls? How does this further your mission?"

"It doesn't." He admitted. "It'll keep them safe, though. Demons won't stop until they're dead. If they have better control over their power, most Demons won't be a match for them."

"Well in that case, I see no reason not to agree to this training. So long as it doesn't cut into her school life." The father made that point clear.

"It won't, that much I can guarantee you. Training can start at, say 4:00 pm."

"That is reasonable. Teach our daughter well."

Allen smiled.

...

Piper and Paige walked into the kitchen. They noticed the disturbed look on their sister's face.

"What happened?" Paige wondered.

"You had a vision didn't you?" Piper questioned. Phoebe slowly nodded.

"There was this child….she looked no older than ten. Allen was with her."

Piper and Paige widened their eyes at what their sister had just insinuated.

"Allen was wearing the clothes he had on while he attacked us so I think this happened about a week ago."

"That poor girl." Piper said sadly. To think someone so young had been killed.

"He's a monster." Paige struggled to keep tears from falling out of her eyes. "We have to find him soon. I know that Leo says the elders can't help but…this is just too much."

Phoebe sighed. "I agree. He can't be allowed to roam free. We just have to be patient. He'll pay for all of the lives he's taken."

Piper and Paige nodded.

…..

The next day with Allen

The young Demon had his hands in his pockets as he walked through the halls of his school. He was nervous about asking Kimberly out. Not because he hadn't dated before, but because he was worried this relationship would end the same way that one did.

Allen shook his head and clenched his fists. 'It'll be different this time. Nobody will get hurt, I wont let it happen.'

Ten minutes later Allen entered his second period class. He noticed that Kimberly wasn't here yet. Sitting down he placed his bag on the ground to the right of him.

Allen rested his cheek on his fist as he waited for Kimberly to arrive. He didn't wait long, because five minutes later Kimberly arrived, taking her usual seat in front of him.

"Hey, Allen." Kimberly spoke looking at her through her peripheral vision.

The Demon smiled. "Good morning Kimberly."

"Morning."

Several moments passed before he opened his mouth to speak. "Would-would you like to go to the spring formal with me?"

Kimberly widened her eyes before turning her head to face him. She was sure the surprise showed on her face because he scratched the back of his head.

"I've had a crush on you for a while now. You're a nice girl, Kimberly and I don't know if it's just me, but I have a feeling we just click, you know?"

Kimberly's face reddened at the beginning. "I-I know what you mean and honestly I'm not against the idea, just surprised is all. In all honesty I've never been on a date before."

Allen didn't say anything for several moments which led her to believe he was thinking about something. Probably about what she had just said. Had he been on a date before? Had he had a girlfriend?

"It's a date then, I'm looking forward to it." Allen gave her a warm smile.

"M-me too." Kimberly flushed turning her head before she could see her face.

Allen kept his smile. He knew that his mission was important, but Kimberly was important to him too. He would protect those that he cared about. No matter what.

The spring formal was in three days and he was to begins his students training today, needless to say his schedule was going to be filled for the foreseeable future.

...

-Later that day- Forest residence-

Allen and the girls stood in the backyard. Glancing at Sophia, he asked her a question.

"What's your ability?"

"I can create fire."

'Pyrokinesis. Nice.' He directed his eyes to Sarah who smiled.

"I have Hydrokinesis, Mr. Allen."

The teenager nodded. "Here's what I want you to do. Run around the house until you can't anymore. This will tell me how much endurance you have."

The girls frowned. What did this have with controlling their power.

"What are you waiting for? Get to it!" Crossing his arms he gave the girls a stern look.

"Y-Yes sir!"

"Yes, Mr. Allen!"

The girls began to run around the house. It wasn't a small building either so it took them at least a minute to complete one lap.

Allen continued to watch as they did their laps. Fifteen minutes later passed with them finishing fifteen laps in total.

"Hm. Not bad. Not bad at all." Allen spoke as the girls fell to the ground in exhaustion. "Catch your breath and we'll go from there, girls."

"Y-yes."

The girl spent close to ten minutes to recover their breath and their energy.

"Tell me girls, are you able to use your abilities?"

Sarah positioned herself so she was cross-cross applesauce. She raised a hand in the air and water that was circular about the size of a fist appeared above her.

Allen looked up at the flickering ball of water before glancing at Sophia.

She placed a hand in front of her and surrounded her hand in flames.

"Sophia. Can you shoot a blast of fire?"

"T-That's hard for me. I can barely do this."

Allen nodded. "I see. Stand up."

Sophia obeyed her instructors command, awaiting further instruction.

"Close your eyes for me."

Sophia did so.

"Feel the heat in your body, Sophia. Once you can feel the heat in your hand imagine the heat launching itself." Allen watched as the girl concentrated and a fist sized ball of flames was launched at him, but he used one of his powers to catch the ball of heat.

Allen grinned. "Open your eyes."

Sophia opened her eyes and saw her teacher with a ball of flames in his hands. "You did it, Sophia."

"W-What?"

"Yeah. This ball of flames is yours." Allen clenched his fist which caused the flames to disappear.

"I want you to renmbember that feeling. Continue practicing, but aim at the sky will you? No need to burn the house or the area around us down."

"Yes sir. I got it."

Sophia began to concentrate before struggling to launch another blast of fire. Allen smiled before turning to his other student.
