"What do you think?" The old man asked in a gruff tone.
"Well…can I resign after working for a few months?" Andy asked another question.
The old man: "..."
"It's up to you!"
Not going to work is definitely not an option. No company or corporation can tolerate absentee employees. Not to mention that this is the Ministry of Magic, the official organisation of the wizarding world.
But resigning…
If you don't allow employees to resign, that's a bit too much.
"OK!"
Andy smiled, "It's settled then!"
"I'll discuss it with the professor when I get back. Next summer, I'll come and intern in the Department of Mysteries for two months... Is that alright?"
"Just make sure you put me in a good department."
"For example... I think working in the archives would suit me perfectly."
The old man: "..."
He didn't really want to talk to Andy anymore.
Andy shrugged, looking completely unconcerned.
Going through the back door... You just have to get used to these things.
It's perfectly normal!
In fact, before coming tonight, Andy was prepared to use coercion to extract information. But after actually meeting the unspeakable, Andy gave up on that idea.
Not that Andy couldn't bring himself to interrogate an old man, but the Unspeakable would never be able to reveal the secrets of the Department of Mysteries because the magic binding them would make sure of that.
In that case, Andy only had one way to explore the Department of Mysteries.
That was to join them!
Join the Department of Mysteries and become an Unspeakable!
After that, everything here will be open to Andy, and he can explore it all as he pleases.
"Tricky brat."
The old man paused for a moment, then said sternly, "However, Collins, I must remind you that everything you see and learn during your time as an Unspeakable must be kept strictly confidential, and not even a single word can be shared with the outside world."
"Otherwise, you will pay a serious price!"
The old man's tone had become extremely firm at the end.
"Of course." Andy raised an eyebrow.
The secrets of the Department of Mysteries were obviously not suitable for ordinary wizards to know, and some things might overturn their worldview.
"Then..."
Andy stretched and laughed lightly, "I'll see you this summer!"
Since he had already decided to come and intern at the Department of Mysteries, Andy had no desire to continue exploring.
After becoming an Unspeakable, Andy would be able to learn everything.
"I don't have summer holidays anymore," said the old man.
"Okay!"
Andy shrugged, "Good night!"
With that, Andy turned and left the Department of Mysteries.

After using the Disillusionment Charm, Andy strolled around the Ministry of Magic, looking for a deserted corner. Then he took Kreacher out of his pocket and used the Apparition spell to return to Hogwarts.
"Go home."
Andy took out his wand and tapped it lightly on Kreacher. "When you get back, you'll forget everything you experienced tonight."
After Kreacher disappeared, Andy stretched his arms high above his head.
"Ahhh..."
After stretching, Andy walked towards the Ravenclaw dormitory while going over the conversation he had with the old man in his mind.
Joining the Department of Mysteries...
Andy hadn't really thought about it before tonight.
But on second thought, for a department that kept its secrets so strictly, this was the best way to unlock all the mysteries.
As for the old man's attitude...
Andy was a little dubious.
The old man said he was willing to pay with his life to reveal some secrets to Andy.
Such words should be taken with a grain of salt.
Andy would never take them seriously.
But then again...
If it was a lie, then it was actually fine.
But if it's true, then the implications are serious.
Someone who is willing to give up their life must be after something much grander than their own life.
That's a terrifying notion!
Apart from these two things, tonight's gains in the field of magic were not great.
Or rather, they were practically zero.
The brains in the Brain Room are simply human brains preserved using a special method. Although the activity of those organs is retained, they are still dead things.
In essence, they are no different from specimens.
On the other hand, the old man's words... He told Andy to start with the Philosopher's Stone, which gave Andy some ideas.
Yes, the Philosopher's Stone!
Andy thought of something.
In his first year at school, Voldemort possessed Professor Quirrell and secretly infiltrated Hogwarts to steal the Philosopher's Stone.
In other words, in Voldemort's understanding, the Philosopher's Stone could allow him to rebuild his body.
And Dumbledore thought similarly.
That's why he used the Stone as bait to lure Voldemort.
Of course, with Andy's current skills and knowledge of magic, it's easy to understand the logic behind this.
Philosopher's Stone can make people immortal and recreate their bodies – as long as your soul is still there, it can help you rebuild your body.
This coincides with Andy's thoughts!
With a thought, the body can be recreated.
At present, both Voldemort's resurrection ritual and the Philosopher's Stone can do this.
"Hmm…"
'Is there a connection between these two methods?'
'If I had known, I would have snatched the Philosopher's Stone in the first year!'
He glanced at the system panel.
[Alchemy: 3]
Andy did some calculations.
If he wanted to increase his Alchemy talent to level 7, he would need 22 more Potential Points. Even if he gained one Potential point every ten days, it would still take more than 200 days.
Andy did not lack time.
He just had too many things he wanted to do.
With so many things to do, he had to prioritize.
***
While pondering, Andy had returned to his dormitory.
After washing up and lying on the bed, Andy rested his hands behind his head and gazed out the window and looked at the night outside.
'It seems like there are always too many things to do.'
The more knowledge you gain, the more mysteries there are to solve, and the more things you want to know.
Today, Andy seems to be only one step away from the truth of the world, but this step may very well be a chasm that he cannot cross in his lifetime.
Just as the old man said:
Success in research does not mean real success.
Magic requires talent.
Knowing something does not necessarily mean you can do it!
Now, Andy can only rely on the system.
...beyond level 7?
"Hey!" Andy sighed.
After thinking about it...
'Christmas is almost here!'
This Christmas, Andy is going to meet Grindelwald.
No matter what the old man's plan is, Andy is going to go see him for the sake of the German Ministry of Magic's Department of Mysteries.
In addition, Andy also wants to see Dumbledore.
First, he wants to ask him some questions about magic.
Second, he wants to apply for a summer internship.
In short, Andy is looking forward to this meeting.
He also wonders how Grindelwald is faring.
He hopes that the old man has succeeded in creating the Obscurus.
'I hope it goes well!'
As he thought about this, Andy let his mind wander, and then he fell into a deep sleep.
