Chapter 700 - Chapter 700: There are too many people in this world who can take the blame

In fact, there was not much to talk about when it came to the details of how they had defeated Voldemort. Andy and Dumbledore had already agreed on their statements, and Scrimgeour naturally knew this. So they were just going through the motions.

The only thing they needed to hide was the matter of the Horcruxes.

After all, the Horcrux is dark magic that can help you avoid death. If this magic became public knowledge, who knows how many people would study it in the hope of gaining immortality?

It's better not to challenge human nature.

After recording the statement, Scrimgeour glanced at his notebook and asked in a somewhat puzzled tone, "So you don't know why the Gringotts Bank was attacked either?"

Andy shrugged, "I'm just a student."

"You are not just any ordinary student."

Scrimgeour put away his notebook and asked calmly, "While you were besieging Voldemort, Voldemort sent Death Eaters to attack the Gringotts …Mr Collins, don't you find this strange?"

"What's so strange about it?"

Andy looked at Scrimgeour incredulously. "I wouldn't find anything Voldemort does strange, because he's not in his right mind."

"Well...for example, he could have become the Minister of Magic through normal channels, but instead he chose to rebel... Mr Scrimgeour, don't you find this strange?"

Scrimgeour: "..."

Okay, this is a bit strange.

It can only be said that Voldemort's mind is truly out of order.

As for the attack on Gringotts Bank...

According to what Andy, Snape, Dumbledore, and others claimed, it was a secret operation carried out by Voldemort, and apart from the Death Eaters involved in the operation, no one else knew the details of it.

No one knows the real purpose of Voldemort's attack on Gringotts.

All the goblins in Gringotts had been killed, and the Death Eaters who attacked Gringotts had also disappeared (burnt to ashes by the fiendfyre).

No one can testify to what happened!

After investigating, the Ministry of Magic learned that the Death Eaters had destroyed Bellatrix Lestrange's vault and likely taken something from it, but no one knows exactly what item they took.

This is a bizarre turn of events!

Did Voldemort try to make a last-ditch bid for survival?

Scrimgeour didn't think so.

If Voldemort wanted to escape, Dumbledore would be unable to stop him.

As for Dumbledore's words... Scrimgeour didn't believe a single punctuation mark of it.

The only thing that was certain was that someone had attacked Gringotts and taken a mysterious object from Bellatrix's vault.

This object must be very important.

For this reason, the murderer killed goblins to silence them.

As to whether the murderer was a Death Eater, that was unknown.

In any case, Scrimgeour didn't believe any of it!

After a moment of silence, he glanced at Andy and abruptly asked, "Mr Collins, there have been some rumours going around that are very negative towards Dumbledore. What do you think about that?"

"Of course, I believe in our headmaster!" Andy replied with a smile.

This guy is really after Dumbledore!

"I don't believe so,"

Scrimgeour looked at Andy with sharp eyes as if he had caught a slip-up. "As far as I know, the first reporter to write such a scandalous article was Ms Rita Skeeter."

"And you, Mr Collins, have a very unusual relationship with this lady."

Andy: "…"

How can this be linked to me?

Andy was a little confused.

Who the hell has a relationship with Rita Skeeter?

"This is slander! Slander of my character!"

Andy said with righteous indignation. "Who said this? I will sue him for defamation immediately!"

"Heh,"

Scrimgeour laughed lightly, then continued, "As far as I know, it was you who came to Miss Skeeter's defence when Voldemort sent his Death Eaters after her."

"Er…that! That did happen."

Andy's lips twitched as he explained, "It was Ms Skeeter who contacted me through my aunt, hoping that I could protect her."

"Think about it. If I really had a relationship with Ms Skeeter, I would have prepared a safe house for her before this, not after Voldemort was chasing her."

"This doesn't make sense."

Scrimgeour was stunned and then nodded slightly.

Andy's explanation sounded very reasonable.

Without a safe house, why would Rita Skeeter cooperate with Andy?

But in that case.

Why would Rita Skeeter dare to publish that article?

She offended both Voldemort and Dumbledore!

"Mr Scrimgeour, I can guess what's going on here," Andy suddenly said.

"Oh? Care to elaborate?" Scrimgeour raised an eyebrow, signalling Andy to elaborate.

Andy smiled and explained, "Slandering Professor Dumbledore, exposing Voldemort's plans, and then contacting me through my aunt to seek my protection..."

"It seems like a plan to kill three birds with one stone!"

"So…what happened next?"

Andy paused for a moment before continuing, "Professor Dumbledore set out to capture Grindelwald in Europe, and Grindelwald secretly contacted Voldemort, forming an alliance between them… This is probably what led to Voldemort's attack on Diagon Alley."

"If these events were all planned by Grindelwald, then it would all make sense."

"Well… including the attack on Gringotts."

People like Dark Lord and Shadow Hokage are always the best scapegoats.

Because no one would listen to their explanations, and they themselves would not bother to explain.

Scrimgeour frowned slightly.

Recalling the events of the past few years, Scrimgeour had to admit that a third party had indeed interfered in the wizarding world.

The invasion of the Department of Mysteries was proof of that!

Because a lot of evidence had pointed to the fact that it was not Voldemort who had done it.

Grindelwald...

Scrimgeour mused.

Bellatrix was Voldemort's most trusted Death Eater, and she was indeed loyal to him, or one could even say she was fanatically devoted to him.

Grindelwald took an object from the vault – an object that might have belonged to Voldemort.

Then Dumbledore killed Voldemort.

And then... Dumbledore went to Europe to hunt down Grindelwald, almost impatiently, not even willing to wait a day longer.

Then, when combining this with his previous speculation, Voldemort may have been Dumbledore's dark magic experiment.

Then the contents of the vault might be the result of that experiment!

Dumbledore wanted to use it to reach the next level of power in magic.

If you think about it like this, it makes perfect sense!

Voldemort was Dumbledore's experiment.

The content of the vault was the result of the experiment.

With the result of the experiment, Voldemort's life or death no longer mattered – that's why he died.

And Grindelwald escaped from prison just to steal Dumbledore's experiment.

Because this result can make Grindelwald stronger!

Scrimgeour thought again about what Dumbledore had said before: If Grindelwald is not captured soon, maybe...even I will not be his match.

Now that he thought about it, Dumbledore's words might really be the truth!
