"Please," Sophie said, her voice cracking with feigned desperation. "I am appealing to the law of this country… grant us justice, grant me justice and freedom." A tear slid down her cheek, and some of the reporters wiped their faces, while others sniffed back their own tears, clearly sharing in her pain.
Sophie watched the reactions, feigning a sorrowful expression, but deep inside, she was silently rejoicing.
'It seems these people bought my story,' she thought, satisfaction curling in her chest. 'I need to tell the master that our plan worked. We can move to the next phase now.'
"Don't worry, Madam. We promise to give you justice," one of the female reporters said, her voice warm and reassuring. The rest of the crowd echoed their agreement, shouting in unison, "Yes!"
Sophie blinked, grateful for the applause she had orchestrated. "Thank you," she said softly, her voice laced with false humility, as tears welled up in her eyes, creating a heartbreaking performance.
