Elena and Gabriel teleported back to her room. To Gabriel, the sudden burst in power in Elena was concerning. How a mere human like her could teleport was a question he yearned to ask.
"Where have you been?" He asked instead. She had been missing for a day without a trace!
Elena's lips moved to say something when the door suddenly flew open. A stupefied Darion stood there, his eyes bulging out in disbelief.
"My lady?" He called, taking a step inside. His eyes scanned her from foot to head, only believing it was her when he touched her hand, something that didn't settle well with Gabriel.
"She's alive," he said to break the ice. "What do you have?"
Darion's hands rested on his back. "The council has called a meeting in the throne hall to plan the defenses. The vampires have camped outside the gates."
"I don't think my presence will be required," Elena chipped.
"Trust me, your presence is more needed now than ever," Darion replied before he left with a now.
