The path out of the villa wasn't easy to navigate. Escaping wasn't as simple and smooth as Xia Wanwan had imagined. K led Xia Wanwan through many people and finally entered a small forest. K said this path would lead them to the dock more quickly.
Xia Wanwan didn't doubt him. At this point, she could only follow this man. They walked one behind the other, not saying much along the way.
The forest was illuminated only by occasional starlight, casting light on the barely developed path. The scenery ahead grew more and more blurry as they reached the depths of the woods. Suddenly, K stopped. Xia Wanwan was stunned for a moment and instinctively asked, "Why are we stopping?"
With his back to her, Xia Wanwan could see the man's cold, murderous face. He spoke, his voice much colder than before: "There is no need to go any further."
That voice carried thick disdain and mockery, even a hint of unexplained excitement.
