Spectator?
Ronald Tang (Norton) froze for a full half-minute after hearing that.
In the Bronze City, 80 meters underwater, encountering strange things was nothing new, but this definitely wasn't one of them: a young boy sitting at a low table, brewing tea.
"Are you calling for me?" Tang hesitated for a moment, but eventually asked the question.
He needed to understand. The nightmare that had haunted him, the boy who kept calling him 'brother,' the countless arrows streaking across the night sky, the White Emperor City set ablaze—what did all these signs mean?
He had crossed the Pacific Ocean, from America to the Three Gorges Reservoir, for a dream. If it were someone else, they might be considered insane.
But... a voice deep inside him had told him that this decision would affect his future.
He had to come. To answer the boy's call, to respond to the stirring in his blood, and to seek the truth behind the dream.
"No."
The black-haired boy, naturally, was Uchiha Sogetsu. He shook his head.
Hearing the negative response from the boy left Tang even more confused. He absentmindedly examined the room's simple furnishings, finally focusing on the wall.
On it were two moon-white robes, one large and one small. His throat tightened, as if something were trying to break free from inside.
The burning White Emperor City, the sad boy, the endless ice plains, the towering bronze columns—fragmented memories swirled like a tsunami, crashing through Tang's mind. Scenes flashed by rapidly, like slideshows.
As the flood of memories washed over him, Tang's gaze slowly shifted from confusion to resolve.
The messy, disheveled air around him changed completely, as if a supreme ruler had arrived. His aura was commanding, his power overwhelming. The entire room seemed to suffocate under the pressure.
"My name is... Norton!"
At last, the true name of 'Norton' was reclaimed. Standing tall, his spine straightened, and his eyes burned with a fierce golden light.
"I am the King of Bronze and Fire!"
At this moment, Tang—no, he should be called Norton—was born from the Black King Nidhogg. He inherited the bloodline of the first Dragon King, a cruel and tyrannical ruler, with dominion over bronze and fire.
He was a master of alchemy, the sovereign of fire-based Word Soul, and controlled the ultimate fire Word Soul, 'Candle Dragon.' He was the 'power' among the twins!
The air, once damp, suddenly became scorching and boiling.
And the space around 'Norton' began to twist and distort, like a massive furnace, radiating intense heat.
"Welcome back, King of Bronze and Fire, Norton."
The black-haired youth was naturally Uchiha Sogetsu. He smiled and raised his hand, signaling, "Try the freshly brewed tea. How does it compare to your skills?"
"Who are you?"
Norton's gaze was cold and harsh. A brutal and ruthless aura exploded, surging like a mountain's roar and the waves of the sea.
The elements of bronze melted under the high temperature, causing the entire Bronze City to tremble, as if answering the return of its master!
"Haven't I already said?" Uchiha Sogetsu's lips curled into a smile. He calmly said, "Just an insignificant spectator, here to witness the fall of the Dragon King."
The fall of the Dragon King?
These words seemed to anger Norton. As the mighty Dragon King, how could he tolerate a mere mortal's desecration?
A dragon has a reverse scale—touch it, and death is certain!
And unfortunately for him, Norton wasn't just a dragon—he was the most powerful Dragon King!
"Speak recklessly, seeking death!"
Norton's eyes seemed to burn with fire, emitting a furious energy. Unmatched power erupted from within him. A cold, murderous intent spread, as though it were a physical presence. "Word Soul: Blazing Sun!"
The fire elements in the atmosphere suddenly became agitated, rapidly gathering into shape. Accompanied by ancient and majestic incantations, fiery red rings of flame appeared under the King's will, resembling the Tower of Babel that reached up to the heavens!
The flames, full and violent, were compressed to their limits, shining with a blinding white light.
No need to even see with the eyes—just the air boiling from the extreme heat felt as though it was burning like a fierce fire. It was clear that it contained terrifying destructive power!
However, Uchiha Sogetsu simply snapped his fingers.
"Cancel."
The towering inferno, which had gathered with explosive flames, collapsed and shattered as if the dam had broken—just with a single snap of his fingers.
His Word Soul was canceled? No, it had been forcefully dispersed using the mental elements, dispersing the gathered fire elements.
Norton's pupils constricted sharply. The shock in his heart was no less than a raging storm. It felt as if a thousand horses were galloping wildly, and at the same time, countless questions emerged in his mind.
In the dragon world, there were five elements: earth, fire, water, wind, and spirit.
The world is made up of the four great elements: fire, earth, water, and wind. However, the mental element governs these four elements.
In other words, whoever masters the mental element can control the four elements, simulate them, or even cancel out the Word Soul.
But the problem is that, aside from the Black King Nidhogg and the deceased White King, no other Dragon Kings can master the mental element.
"Who exactly are you?!"
Norton asked loudly, his muscles tense, as if he would explode and kill at any moment.
But in Uchiha Sogetsu's eyes, it was clear that Norton was hiding something—a deep fear buried inside him.
Beneath those angry eyes, there was still a trace of bone-chilling terror.
It was the kind of fear that came from the soul itself, a fear of the Black King, who once ruled over the Dragon Tribe and the world, a terror that ran deep into his very being.
"I don't like to waste words. I've already answered your question."
Uchiha Sogetsu raised his hand, signaling Norton to sit down. He tapped his index finger on the low table, and the tea that had been evaporated by the heat strangely reappeared at the bottom of the dried cup. "Sit down, drink tea."
His tone was calm, but there was an undeniable authority in it that couldn't be resisted.
The bizarre scene before him, along with the person who seemed to be the 'Black King,' cast a shadow over Norton's heart.
His face darkened. After a brief moment of silence, he walked over decisively and sat across from Uchiha Sogetsu. He picked up the steaming tea bowl, observing it carefully. His brow furrowed deeper.
It was almost certain now—he was controlling the mental element.
"Good tea!"
He took a sip. The tea's fragrance and aftertaste were refreshing. Norton put the cup down.
After a moment of silence, he looked at Uchiha Sogetsu, his gaze burning like molten gold. He spoke in a deep voice, "I've had the tea. Now, can you tell me what your real purpose is?"
"There's no need to be so tense. I'm just a spectator, here to witness history."
Uchiha Sogetsu tapped his finger again, and the empty cup was once more filled with hot tea. He raised his hand and smiled lightly, saying, "The grand finale of the King of Bronze and Fire... How could I possibly miss such a spectacle?"
"So, you want to kill us and take our bones?"
Norton picked up the steaming tea bowl, and despite the boiling tea, he gulped it down in one go. He slammed the bowl heavily onto the low table, his gaze sharp and violent.
Although the Four Dragon Kings were all born from the Black King, it didn't mean they were close like brothers. In fact, their relationship was likely worse.
Because the Dragon Kings were twins, in order to gain complete 'power' and 'authority,' they had to devour the other brother. Only then could they claim the true throne!
However, there was another way. That was to devour the 'bones' of the other Dragon Kings!
Thus, Norton naturally thought that the black-haired youth's goal was to steal his and Constantine's bones, planning to climb to the throne just like the others.
"No, the Spectator rarely interferes with 'history,' unless necessary guidance is required."
Uchiha Sogetsu wore a gentle smile, his light golden vertical pupils rippling. His voice seemed to reach deep into one's soul:
"Norton, Constantine, the great Kings of Bronze and Fire, your fate has been sealed the moment it was drawn by Alzuhod. I am here to make a deal with you."
"A deal?"
Norton froze for half a second before his expression turned wary: "What are you talking about? Alzuhod? What is that?!"
"Whether you believe it or not doesn't matter."
Uchiha Sogetsu lightly tapped the low table with his fingertips, his gaze profound as he looked at Norton. He said, "When you fall into complete despair, recite my true name—Anglewid. At that moment, I will offer you two choices. This is the content of the deal."
