Weilan smiled softly and said to Lu Heyan, "Heyan, you're well-informed. I did divorce your brother, but that doesn't mean I can just leave with you to America."
Lu Heyan saw Weilan's response, his thick, dark brows furrowed, and a deep disappointment emerged in his eyes, followed by a self-mocking smile, "Weilan, I knew you would refuse."
Weilan also smiled and looked ahead.
"Heyan, if our paths are different, we can't work together," Weilan said softly. "In life, there are things worth doing and things not worth doing."
"Because of my brother, we can't be friends?" Lu Heyan asked, his gaze locked on Weilan's eyes, not moving away for a moment.
Weilan shook her head, "It's not because of your brother."
"Then why?" Lu Heyan asked directly.
"Because of you," Weilan said firmly. "I don't like being oppressed, even in friendship. You push too hard, Heyan. Some things, some people, can't be forced."
