Weilan looked at Shen Lu's stubbornness and suddenly felt a chilling sadness in her heart. She and Shen Lu were born of the same mother, shared the same blood; was she just as stubborn?
She didn't want her stubbornness to reach the point of obstinacy.
When Shen Lu married Qin Zigui, it wasn't Qin Zigui whom she tormented, but herself.
"If he's having a hard time, can you return to how things were before?" Weilan asked.
Shen Lu shook her head: "I will never return to how things were before, but if I don't do anything, it will drive me crazy."
Weilan said no more.
Sometimes, persuasion is futile.
She looked ahead; the night had grown deep.
Shen Lu added, "I'm getting married soon, will you come to my wedding?"
Weilan looked at her and didn't make a sound.
"Don't want to come?" Seeing her reaction, Shen Lu knew Weilan did not really want to come.
She paused and said, "If you don't want to come, then don't. But I still hope you will, sister."
