Jia Lan let out a cry of shock, thinking this was it, all over, a total embarrassment.
She closed her eyes, not daring to see how things would unfold next.
"Pfft!"
Instead of the anticipated screams and interrogations, what she heard was Qin Lan's laughter.
"Sister Lan, listen to my explanation,"
"It's not what you think!"
Jia Lan opened her eyes and flailed her arms about trying to explain.
"Explain what, seems like you were just entertaining yourself, comforting yourself," Qin Lan said with a weird look of 'I get it, I get it,' and a smile that only adults wore.
"???"
Jia Lan was bewildered, what was this all about.
Had Brother Yu not been discovered?
She looked down and there was no sign of Luo Yu beneath her, just empty space, and yet her legs were propped up.
Her trousers were tossed aside.
Huh?
Jia Lan was even more confused, where was Brother Yu, he was just in the bed a moment ago, how could he suddenly be gone.
"Lulu, it's not wrong to give yourself comfort, but moderation is key, you have to take care of your body," Qin Lan chuckled, then walked out of the bedroom.
She thoughtfully closed the door, and before leaving, she turned her head back and gave a suggestive wink.
"My poor Lulu,"
"to think you have a boyfriend and yet you come to this, tsk."
"If it really comes to it, Sister Lan can help you order a custom-made large one from the trash heap, just say the word, and I'll have it sent over."
Jia Lan couldn't take it anymore and shouted with a flushed face, "Sister Lan, what are you blabbering about, get out! I really want to sleep!!!!"
"Creak!"
It wasn't until the bedroom door was shut that Jia Lan let out a sigh of relief.
But looking at the empty, lonely room, her spirits sank again.
"Where's Brother Yu!"
"He definitely appeared just now, it couldn't possibly have been a hallucination," she bit her lips, her expression tight with anxiety, fearing that the man had vanished, never to return.
"Hmm."
Jia Lan felt as if her pristine, adorable feet were touched by someone, and she trembled, but there was clearly nothing in front of her.
She even rubbed her eyes, but still, there was nothing.
"Eh."
"What's going on."
"Is that you, Brother Yu?"
"Don't scare me!"
"Of course, don't be afraid, Lulu," Luo Yu's magnetic voice sounded, and his tall figure materialized, sitting on the bed, playfully handling her delicate jade feet.
A special Bagua Bronze Mirror hung above his head.
Luo Yu couldn't help but marvel at how worthwhile the trip to the ancient tomb had been; just the Bagua Bronze Mirror alone proved infinitely useful, not to mention the other treasures. Once the Tiger Talisman was combined, it would soon be time to explore as well.
Everyone was surely curious about what was truly inside the First Emperor's Mausoleum.
"Brother Yu, what is this technique? It's amazing," Jia Lan blinked her beautiful eyes in curiosity, crawling towards him, fixated on the bronze mirror.
"I acquired a treasure, and there's an Artifact Spirit inside, but I've suppressed it," Luo Yu said with a smile while playing with her little feet.
"Suppressed? Why suppress it?" Jia Lan asked, puzzled.
"Because..."
"Come closer, and I'll tell you."
Jia Lan leaned in, and Luo Yu bit down on her gleaming jade-like earlobe, whispering, "Of course, because there are some not-suitable-for-children things that it mustn't see."
"You are my woman, after all."
"Ah!"
Jia Lan uttered a cry, but couldn't escape his grasp.
Luo Yu pinned her down with one hand while tossing the Bagua Bronze Mirror with the other, effectively sealing off any sound from the bedroom, and then busied himself vigorously.
A sleepless night.
The next morning, a sliver of dawn light streamed through a gap in the curtains into the pink-themed room. Luo Yu, who was already awake, cradled his beloved in his arms, looking at the doll-like beauty.
His eyes were full of tenderness.
"Brother Yu... don't leave me,"
"I miss you,"
Jia Lan seemed trapped in a dream, her brows furrowed, looking pitiful.
Eventually, she jolted awake as if from a nightmare.
"What's wrong, Lulu?"
"It's nothing, I just dreamt that you were being attacked by a crowd of people and died in battle," Jia Lan bit her lip, her face filled with lingering fears.
"???"
Luo Yu's face was a picture of shock, unable to comprehend how Jia Lan could suddenly have such a dream for no apparent reason.
He had thought it might involve love and affection, but instead, it was about being ambushed. He couldn't help but suspect it had something to do with what was happening sixty-four days later.
Jia Lan was an ordinary person; it was impossible for her to have the ability to prophesize.
"Don't worry, Lulu, you know what kind of strength your man has. No amount of surrounding him will help."
"Plus, even if I can't beat them, don't you think I can still escape?" Lu Yu said with a light laugh, comforting her as he gently stroked her smooth hair.
Jia Lan shifted her body, furrowing her brows.
"What's wrong?" Luo Yu asked, puzzled.
"It's all your fault. Every day, you never seem to tire at all," said Jia Lan with a fearful look on her face.
Luo Yu instantly realized what she meant.
He raised his hand and unleashed Shennong Yandi's healing power. A luminous green light spilled forth, healing all the injuries on Jia Lan's body in an instant, restoring her to her former self.
"How amazing!"
Jia Lan looked at the man in disbelief.
She felt that all he did was wave his hand, and not only were all her gunshot wounds healed, but she also felt younger and more energetic.
"All better now?"
"Yeah."
"Shall we spar again then?"
"I'd rather not."
Jia Lan wrapped herself tightly, curling up, but she was no match for Luo Yu, who didn't even use force, merely proceeding to tickle her.
"Giggles!"
As Jia Lan laughed playfully, Luo Yu advanced unabated, as if storming through unchecked.
On the other side, Qin Lan was rolling up her black stockings from her toes upwards, finishing by stepping into her black high-heels after putting on a tight-fitting black dress.
Her white blouse accentuated her perfect figure, strikingly curvaceous. She tucked the blouse into her skirt, biting a hair tie between her lips, using both hands to comb her hair back.
She tied her hair into a dynamic high ponytail, exuding the aura of a powerful businesswoman.
"Tap, tap!"
She walked around the full-length mirror twice, her posture graceful, sexy, and provocative.
"Damn it!"
"I wonder which lousy man will benefit from this in the future."
Qin Lan sighed lightly. Though she said she didn't know which man would benefit, she had already chosen someone in her heart.
However, that man would rather touch her sister than lay a finger on her.
"Lulu, get up!"
She walked to the door of another bedroom in her high heels, knocking and urging, but there was no response.
She tried opening the door, only to find it was locked.
"Lulu?"
She took out her phone and dialed Jia Lan's number, only to hear the message that the number she had called was not within the service area.
"???"
Qin Lan was baffled; her little sister was just in her room, so how could it be not in service area? What a rubbish telecom service.
"Click."
The door opened at that moment, and the scent of heather wafted out. Jia Lan walked out of the room, looking refreshed and brimming with energy.
"Lulu?"
"What's up, Sister Lan?"
Qin Lan was a bit dazed. Wasn't it that there was no response to the knocking, and the phone was out of service? What was going on?
"Nothing... never mind."
She tried to peek into Jia Lan's room but was blocked by her: "Come on, Sister Lan, we need to go to work."
Qin Lan watched Jia Lan, dazed: "Why are your cheeks so rosy? Your complexion is so much better than yesterday, it's like you've been refreshed by the morning dew."
Jia Lan's pupils constricted, thinking Sister Lan's eyes were a little too sharp.
Qin Lan asked casually: "Did he come by last night? Don't lie to your sister."
Jia Lan hesitated but ultimately couldn't withstand Qin Lan's earnest look, sighing and nodding: "Yeah, he came."
Qin Lan's eyes widened in disbelief, sighing and shaking her head repeatedly but ultimately said nothing.
Meanwhile, Luo Yu, who had just flown out of Jia Lan's window, overheard the sisters' conversation. Suddenly a call came, and he ascended to the rooftop to answer.
It was Luo Tiance's voice on the phone.
"What's up, Grandpa?"
Luo Tiance spoke sternly: "The location for the World Youth Competition has been decided."
"Where will it be?" Luo Yu asked.
"The Capital Base City."
