Luo Yu had never felt such a chilling sensation in his life.
Within such a grand tomb from the Han Dynasty, suddenly seeing an ancient tombstone accurately foretelling their arrival was startling.
Anyone would be scared by this.
"Shua!"
Two beams of golden light shot out as Luo Yu pushed his Truth-seer Golden Pupils to the limit, observing the strangeness of the stone monument.
But after staring for a long time, he found no clues; the modern script on the tombstone had clearly weathered the years.
It wasn't freshly carved.
"Luo... Brother Luo, let's go back, this huge tomb is too sinister," Bai Xiao'e suggested, her beautiful face paled with fright.
She looked around warily as if a multitude of eyes were staring at her from the darkness.
Zhen Fu'er couldn't help but speak, "What kind of person with Great Divine Power could have predicted today's events two thousand years ago, and even write in modern script?"
"Luo Gongzi, there might be a tiger's den ahead, shall we go back?"
"I suddenly feel that unearthing past memories isn't that important anymore."
Luo Yu's expression turned ugly; things had always gone smoothly for him, and now to be stuck here was incredibly frustrating.
Plus, if he couldn't unravel this mystery, he doubted he would be able to sleep once back home.
But if the person who carved this stone really had the capability of prophecy for thousands of years, the danger ahead could well cost him his life.
Such a person and methods were simply unfathomable.
"Chuo!"
Luo Yu was extremely agitated, especially upon seeing the large mound behind the tombstone which made his blood boil even more.
"No more exploring."
"Let's withdraw!"
"Boom!"
Before leaving, he casually unleashed a forceful blow, and the large mound behind the tombstone exploded instantly, with dirt and stones splattering against the walls.
This scene made both women jump in fright.
Had Luo Gongzi lost his mind?
Making such a commotion, what if they awoke something?
Ready to retreat, Luo Yu couldn't care about the consequences; he had to vent his frustration somehow.
Suddenly, Bai Xiao'e, with widened Beautiful Eyes, pointed ahead, her finger trembling.
"Look, you guys, look quickly."
"What's the matter, Xiao E?" Zhen Fu'er followed the direction of her finger and her pupils contracted—in the exploded mound there were three burial pits, each containing a coffin.
"There are words on them too," Bai Xiao'e said with a quivering voice.
Luo Yu saw the coffins were dark as ink, with faint dark red inscriptions on their lids that looked like dried blood.
Most of the text was covered by soil and unclear.
With a sweeping motion of his hand, a gust of wind cleared the lids revealing all dark red inscriptions.
The characters were not ancient seals but written in modern script that was indeterminable in age.
Upon reading the words on the coffin, all three were stupefied, feeling a chill rising from the soles of their feet.
"Tomb of Luo Yu?"
"Tomb of Zhen Fu'er."
"Tomb of Bai Xiao'e?"
Bai Xiao'e nearly chattered her teeth reading the dark red inscriptions on the three coffins, her fear peaking.
"How is this possible? How could our names be accurately recorded?" Zhen Fu'er was extremely horrified.
Luo Yu stared fixedly at the three coffins.
"I want to see who's playing ghost here."
"Bang!"
He exerted Spiritual Power with his hand and blasted the coffin lids off, which crashed to the ground, revealing the interiors for the three to see clearly.
"Empty?" Bai Xiao'e was surprised.
Luo Yu said, "We haven't gone in yet, of course they're empty."
Bai Xiao'e shivered, "Brother Luo, don't joke at a time like this; you'll scare someone to death."
Luo Yu shook his head: "I'm not joking. If there are our names on those coffins and we're standing here safe and sound, then naturally no one is inside."
"Is this some kind of curse? So far, no particular danger has appeared," Zhen Fu'er was puzzled, repeatedly examining the inside of the coffins.
In that moment, Luo Yu noticed tiny red dots appearing inside the coffins, merging in the space above into three vertical lines of small characters.
[My name is Luo Yu; today I was invited to explore a great tomb from the Han Dynasty and was stopped by a tombstone.
Before leaving, I angrily blew up the mound behind the tombstone and discovered three coffins, one of which bore my own name.
Upon opening the coffin, I saw a line of small red characters appear before me.
While terrified, I also found it absurd and quickly left the ancient tomb with my companions.
Yet on the way, I noticed my companions acting strangely; unbeknownst to me, they were no longer human...]
Damn!
Upon reading to the end, Luo Yu was startled and his eyes widened.
He then immediately turned to look at his companions.
In the darkness, he clearly saw Bai Xiao'e and Zhen Fu'er's faces, devoid of any blood, frightfully pale.
Coincidentally, both women also stared back with eyes full of fear and wariness.
The air fell into complete silence.
"Gulp."
All three swallowed hard as a chill ran through Luo Yu's entire body.
What exactly was going on with the tombstone, the coffins, and the suddenly appearing red characters?
If all the previous prophecies were correct, then what about this final one?
Hiss—
"Shua shua!"
Luo Yu's Eyes that Break Delusion emitted two golden beams shining on the two women.
"Hey, are you two still human?"
Bai Xiao'e and Zhen Fu'er each took a step back, their gazes full of alert, as though they couldn't trust the person next to them.
