A pressure that caused more tremors spread throughout the room, objects shaking even more as if they were going to collapse in on themselves.
Crack—!Crack—!
Sparks of red electricity crackled near Micael, the air around him seemed to solidify due to the invisible force.
Crack—!
Pushing his back away from the sofa, his face neutral and his pupils glowing slightly red, Micael spoke calmly. "No, because neither you nor I would leave here."
With the clear underlying threat behind his words, Micael continued to stare at Sirzecs despite the pressure in his eyes.
Crack—!
With yet another spark emerging around Micael, he and Sirzecs remained silent as they just stared at each other, the pressure the two exuded seemed ready to destroy the place.
Until half the pressure abruptly disappeared.
"Ahahaha, sorry about that, I didn't mean to scare you." Sirzecs spoke with a complete turnaround in his demeanor, an apologetic smile on his face as he looked apothelegic.
"...Don't worry, but if you wanted to test my character, you could have used a less scary method." Shaking his head slightly, Micael leaned back against the couch as he rubbed his eyes, exasperation taking over his mind.
"I just wanted to make sure of your intentions regarding Rias. Now I think I understand your personality better, I'm really sorry about that." Sirzecs regained his slight friendly smile as he returned to looking harmless.
Micael just looked at him silently, without making any comments, he could understand a little of Sirzecs' logic for what he did.
Apparently, Sirzecs just wants to get a feel for his sister's boyfriend's personality, his intentions towards her, and possibly try to intimidate him as well, because that's something the older brother does with his younger sister's boyfriend.
'Issei definitely didn't go through that.' A thought that Micael had, this was something obvious considering Issei's personality, what he wanted was constantly stated in addition to how easy it was to influence him, so he definitely must not have experienced something like this.
"I understand, I just ask that you don't do it again, I'd rather not feel like I'm about to die, thank you very much." Micael responded by waving his hand. He might not look very affected on the outside, but the moment Sirzecs released that killing intent, he felt like he was truly about to die.
It was even more absurd considering he had used Haoshoku Haki at that moment, a killing intent so strong that it made him believe for a brief moment that he would actually have to kill Sirzecs was ridiculous.
'He's probably crazy, damn monster with ridiculous power.' Micael thought, completely ignoring the ridiculous nature of his own power and not even realizing that in Issei's perspective he and Sirzecs would be the same person, two crazy people with ridiculous powers.
"Haha...ha, kuhum, please don't say I did this for Rias." After a strained laugh, Sirzecs said with a meaningful look and a strange smile.
Micael just responded with a nod.
"So, putting that little incident aside, I think we can now talk about your powers. I was told that you specifically wanted to talk about this with me. Does this have anything to do with you hiding your true abilities until now?" Sirzecs asked with a curious look, he had already been explained about this by Grayfia before, that Micael wanted to explain his power specifically to him.
"Yes, there are a few things I want to clarify." Micael replied, already starting to mentally prepare himself for what he was about to do.
"Yes, and what exactly would that be?" Raising an eyebrow, Sirzecs asked back. He was already understanding Micael's reasoning behind this.
"To be honest, I want to talk about this precisely to ensure the protection of my family. I think if you have an idea of my true value, you will invest more resources in taking care of them."
"Hmm, I'm listening." Sirzecs had already guessed that it would be that, as he had already noticed that the boy cared a lot about his family, although he didn't seem to include himself in this aspect of protection.
Upon receiving the answer, Micael nodded as he took a deep breath and exhaled, his heart beating faster and more intensely due to his growing nervousness.
'Fuck, doing this is harder than I thought.' Closing his eyes and frowning as he took another deep breath, Micael reminded himself that there was no turning back.
He had already spoken about this with Rias, even if she didn't realize the full potential of his power right now, it was only a matter of time before that happened, since he didn't intend to hide anything.
But for him to make Sirzecs have this notion was different, even if it was mainly to ensure that he was valuable in his eyes and thus gain greater protection for his family, it was something risky.
'Tsk, there's no point in thinking about it, I'm weak and as a weak person I have no right to decide anything in the end.' Slowly regaining his calm, Micael regained his calm face as he opened his eyes.
This would be a gamble, just like how he trusted Rias, with the girl in question having proven herself to be trustworthy, it would be the same with Sirzecs, it would be a gamble he would take no matter if the outcome was him just overthinking things or ending up as a lab rat.
'Then so be it, but if I am betrayed...I will become a Griffith to this world.' Having made up his mind, Micael spoke. "In short, I can currently regenerate someone completely from any injury, I can manipulate souls, and I can transfer those same powers to a certain extent."
Hearing Micael's words, Sirzecs blinked a few times as he processed them, until after a moment of silence he spoke. "...Can you be more specific?"
"My regeneration power works like a rewind, I can restore something as it was, I can manipulate souls, literally molding them as I want and my transference power can make another person have the same power as mine temporarily."
"Ah...that's...impressive." Sirzecs spoke as he leaned back on the couch, his hand pushing his hair over his forehead as he rubbed it, his gaze turning thoughtful.
Micael remained silent due to his strange reaction, he expected another reaction like surprise, but the man seemed more thoughtful than anything else.
After being thoughtful for a few seconds, Sirzecs snapped out of that state by leaning forward and clasping his hands together again. "Tell me, this soul manipulation of yours, how exactly does it work, are there any limitations? Can you manipulate souls freely, without any kind of impediment?"
"It has limitations, if the soul is too strong, I won't be able to do anything even if the target isn't trying to stop me." Micael mentioned what he believed to be one of the limitations of Mahito's technique in the dxd universe, the technique could work on high-level and perhaps even Ultimate-class devils, but he doubted it would work on a Super devil like Sirzecs.
Not to mention beings with the ability to manipulate souls by themselves, such as youkais and especially deities.
"I see, so you have a limit, obviously...well, what I can say is that you are impressive, Micael, that power of yours seems to be on par with the strongest Longinus, possibly stronger perhaps, I've never heard of anything like it before." Seemingly muttering to himself at first, Sirzecs then smiled as he finished the rest of his sentence.
Micael responded with just a simple nod.
"And what else can I say is that you got what you wanted, I will guarantee the protection of your family and yours too of course, after all, I can't let my little sister's boyfriend die, can I? hahaha."
"That's all I ask."
"Do you want to make a contract with me?
I imagine it will feel more comfortable for you that way."
Looking at Sirzecs's slightly extended hand, Micael thought for a moment, making a contract with Sirzecs would make him feel better, but it wouldn't make any difference either.
After all, it would be a contract made by the man's own power, besides, he had already decided to trust him, he would keep that bet.
"No, it's okay."
Sirzecs nodded in understanding. "I guess our meeting ends here then."
Without saying anything, Micael got up from the sofa and extended his hand for a shake. "It was a pleasure meeting you, Sirzecs."
With a faint smile still on his face, Sirzecs also stood up and extended his hand to accept the handshake. "I say the same, Micael, it was a pleasure meeting you."
With the two shaking hands for a moment, they separated until Micael asked a question looking at a photo he had on the table. "By the way, who are they? The woman looks like Grayfia."
Following Micael's gaze, Sirzecs saw the photo frame, picking it up and bringing it closer to him, his smile growing warmer as he ran his fingers over the image of the woman. "They are my wife and son, Yelena and Milicas." That photo was something he had noticed from the beginning, but he didn't comment on it because he was focused on the conversation.
"Oh..." Micael spoke simply, his gaze revealing nothing."She looks like Grayfia."
Sirzecs responded by lowering the portrait back onto the table. "It's because they are sisters."
"Oh..." Another simple answer came from Micael, his face showing nothing, but inside. 'Fuck! I knew it! Shiiiiii...'
While he was screaming shit inwardly, Micael just gave an outward nod. "Ok, I'm going, bye." He gave a brief wave with his other hand in his pocket as he turned toward the door.
"Bye." Sirzecs returns the wave.
When he turned and walked to the door, Michael didn't even have time to touch the handle because Grayfia opened it first.
Click—
With the door opening inwards, the woman with silver hair appeared in Micael's vision, but her gaze was not focused on him at that moment.
Right after opening the door for Micael, the woman gave Sirzecs an intense look, as if she was reprimanding him for something.
Looking back, Micael saw that the man had an apologetic smile on his face as he scratched his cheek.
Believing that it had something to do with the collision of the devil's aura/killing intent against the haoshoku haki, Micael decided not to comment on anything and focused solely on Grayfia, who soon returned his gaze.
She then stepped back, allowing him to pass, which he did.
But he barely took a step and was stopped by Sirzecs.
"Ah Micael, before I forget, you two have my blessing, please take care of Rias."
Looking back at Sirzecs, Micael nodded. "Yes, Sir." Following by finally passing through the door.
Click—
With the two of them outside, they moved to the middle where they appeared with the teleportation circle and stopped there.
With the magic circle appearing beneath his feet, Micael turned to Grayfia and asked. "You have a sister and she is Sirzces' wife?"
With her hands clasped in front of her, Grayfia met Micael's eyes and nodded calmly. "Yes, she is my older sister."
"Hmm." Humming in response, Micael then looked away, deciding to ponder this absurd information in the comfort of his home.
Soon, the magic circle was activated and the two teleported, disappearing from the underworld.
Returning inside the room, Sirzecs stood in front of a window, his gaze calm as he looked at the purple sky.
After a few minutes of silence, he muttered calmly. "I have to make him get attached to Rias."
There was no malice in his tone, but it was also impossible to tell what he was thinking and what his intention was behind those words.
But whatever it was, good or bad, Micael would eventually find out.
