In the bar, Quan Tianyou and a few others were still drinking. The table and floor were already littered with empty bottles, and everyone was slumped over the sofa in a drunken stupor.
Drinking was second nature to them, but they always knew their limits. Tonight was the first time they'd drunk themselves into oblivion.
Quan Tianyou was already numb from the alcohol. Watching his childhood friends passing out before him, he let out a mocking laugh, filled his glass again, and continued drinking.
"Come on, one more round!"
Liu Hengyuan raised his glass and cheered. His own frustrations weighed heavily on him, and he used the drinking to vent it all out. The tangled and ambiguous relationship between him and Li Youxi left him feeling stifled.
"Hengyuan, Tianyou's upset because of an argument with his wife. What's eating you, then?"
Du Jie casually picked up his glass and clinked it against Liu Hengyuan's. He swirled the wine around but didn't drink — he was already at his limit.
