Wang Tao wanted to test whether he could make the Giant Zombie and the Sea Beasts fight each other.
Sea Beasts don't eat zombies. Even with so many zombies passing by the rift's shore before, the Sea Beasts ignored them completely, only ambushing humans when they approached.
But whether zombies eat Sea Beasts... Wang Tao believed it was highly likely, though he couldn't be sure. He had considered luring zombies to the shore to see if they'd actively attack the Sea Beasts.
It wasn't that Wang Tao desperately wanted to watch a "sandpiper and clam brawl while the fisherman reaps the benefit," but he wanted to figure out whether Sea Beasts and zombies were on the same side.
If zombies attacked the Sea Beasts and ate them, then it'd be clear that the two weren't in the same camp, which would be good news for humans.
But if zombies treated Sea Beasts like they treated humans—ignoring them entirely—then humanity would be in deep trouble!
