Aunt Li saw Zhang Ya hesitating to speak and thought that in some unknown place here, An Xuan must have bullied Zhang Ya again. She glared at An Xuan, ready to scold him loudly, when An Lan suddenly lowered her voice and said, "Wangzi is asleep."
Everyone immediately turned to look at An Lan's arms, only to see Wangzi quietly nestled against An Lan, sound asleep. His face still bore traces of tears, appearing pitiful. Aunt Li immediately lowered her voice, "He must be exhausted from crying. Lanlan, put Wangzi down here."
An Lan carefully placed Wangzi on the bed, but just as she tried to pull away, she noticed his small hand tightly clutching the fabric of her shirt. If she forcibly pried herself away, the little one who had only just fallen asleep might wake up.
"I'll stay here and keep him company." An Lan's eyes flickered, making a decisive choice. She lay down beside Wangzi. Aunt Li, with some pending business to settle with An Xuan, gave him a meaningful look to follow her.
