Chapter 15 - Chapter 15 The Explanation

Fury, Carol, and I were in Fury's car on our way to the black site where Project Pegasus was created.

Fury had asked Carol a myriad of questions about herself, the skrulls and what her true purpose was. He believed that it was personal for her, but she didn't trust him enough yet.

Fury then turned to me.

"So what about you?" He asked.

"What about me?" I asked with a smirk.

"You are a Prince of Assgard?" He asked.

"Asgard. And yes, I am the crown prince of Asgard, next in line for the throne." I corrected then added.

"So there is a current king of your civilization?"

"Yes, my father Odin."

"Odin?" Fury asked more to himself as he seemed to be piecing things together.

"Got a brother?" He asked fishing for more Information which I was happy to give as it'll make things easier when Thor shows up in the future.

"Yes, two. My brother's Thor and Loki." I answered casually.

Fury seemed a little suspicious that I was offering up information so easily so he decided to test me.

"You certainly don't shy away from giving out information, won't your father the king be mad?" Fury asked.

"There is something you must understand, my people fancy themselves as Gods so there is no situation where they would be worried about the likes of mortals like yourselves." I replied as honestly it's not that far off. Even though Asgardians are technically aliens, some of the aspects of our life, like Divinity, certainly seems godly to me.

"So you're saying they see us "mortals" as you called us, as insignificant?" He asked.

"Let me put it like this, with your current power, you wouldn't even stand a chance against my youngest brother Loki, not too mention my Brother Thor." I said.

I was explaining all this as I needed Fury to take more precautions for future threats. I could care less about how humans lives may be affected especially considering S.H.I.E.L.D. is still considered a secret organization so any preparation they make won't be that big and Fury will most likely keep it more to himself.

"What about you?" He asked trying to gage my power.

"Me? Well, while I am still century's away from matching my father's power, my powers alone could fight off your entire army. Although if you are worried about an invasion like the Skrulls, you are overreacting.

The Earth is considered a part of the Nine Realms and Asgard are the rukers of the Nine Realms. As such, the Earth is under our protection. We will not protect you from yourselves, but we will protect you from those outside of your world that would want to cause you harm." I explained.

"You say you rule the Nine Realms, you see us as your subjects?" Fury intoned slightly insulted with a hint of what seemed to be fear as my explanation of my power made him very scared.

"Think more like protectors. Afterall, the Allfather is called the Protector of the Nine Realms and swore an Oath of protection when he became king." I replied.

Fury seemed deep in thought and Carol was listening intently as there was limited intimate knowledge of Asgardian culture in the Kree archives.

"What kind of powers do Asgardians have?" Fury asked and I could actually see that his eyes were calculating the possibilities.

"Well I won't be giving you all the information, but a basic rundown should be fine." I said.

"That's fine." He said as he nodded.

"Oh, I will also give a basic example of Asgardian behavior." I said with a smile.

Fury simply nodded his head.

"Okay, first off, all Asgardians have enhanced speed, strength, durability, and Reflexes. Our warriors have battle experience from hundreds of years. I am not sure of the common people, but at least everyone in the royal family has their own special power, some more than others.

There is not a single being on earth that would be able to defeat one of our warriors in combat." I explained, not bringing up the Sorcerers of Kamar Taj as that is a closely guarded secret and they have their own ways of dealing with organizations like S.H.I.E.L.D. if they needed to.

The Sorcerers are the only ones who might be able beat someone like Thor, at least if he's not de-powered and that is a big might.

"Now as for common behavior, most Asgardians have not been on Midgard since lat there were horse drawn carriages. There are a select few, like myself who have come down to Earth a few times over the years so we tend to be less ignorant of Midgard and it's time. Now I will say, Midgard has definitely advanced more since last I was here, but not as much as I'd expected."

"That is certainly interesting, but one thing I don't understand is, if all you say is true, what is someone like you doing here?" Fury asked.

"That's simple, as per a request to my father from me, I am allowed to travel the universe to gain power and experience, I ended up on Midgard more out of curiosity than anything. I had seen a ship which I now know was a Skrull vessel, near Midgard and thought I'd check things out.

But, now that I have discovered the plot of the Skrulls, I will stay and fight, as is my duty." I explained not at all worried as after I leave here, I will not only be increasing the size and power of my Shadow army, I will not arrive back here until Thor is banished as I would probably come with Sif to bring him back.

Although going with Sif and the Warriors Three will only be if Loki ends up taking the throne, which will only happen if father lets me abdicate my position as crown prince to Thor.

Fury seemed satisfied and we continued the drive and after about 10 more minutes, arrived at the gate. Fury started the process to gain access to the site and he and Carol talked and joked.

Carol had kept quiet during my explanation and I could tell that my explanation of my power didn't face her as she still arrogantly believes she is more powerful than me.

It's not entirely unsure, at least after she unlocks her full power, but that is only for the moment, once I meet her again in the future, she will no longer be a challenge.
