"Je sais qui tu es..."
As the words left the Saintess lips, Kai quickly stood up, scattering the pen and paper; and grabbed the Saintess's neck. The Saintess began to choke, as Kai lifted her by her neck; looking at her struggling as he asked;
"Parle... tout..."
As he said so, the Saintess; struggling, began to tap on Kai's arm. as she did, after a few seconds, Kai let her go; as the Saintess fell on the floor, catching her breath. As she was coughing on the floor, Kai looked at her. With a cold expression, he looked down at her. His mind filled with question;
"A French speaking woman? I wonder how she ended up here… And if she knows who I am…"
Kai narrowed his gaze, as he raised his hand to the shoulder level and a juice can materialized in his hand; which he tossed towards the Saintess. As the juice can fell around her, and her eyes landed on it; her eyes sparkled up as she quickly took it. Mumbling in French, she said how she it has been since she saw a juice can; opening it and taking its sip.
Kai just observed her, as she kept drinking; as Kai thought to himself;
"Well, she seems pretty harmless to me."
As the Saintess finished the drink, she quickly remembered that Kai was there with her as well. Quickly looking up with a smile as she began to thanks Kai, saying in French that how kind he was just like she heard in news and television programmes; while Kai just smiled a bit, thinking to himself if she had forgotten that just a few seconds ago; it was Kai who almost killed her.
As the Saintess kept blabbering, Kai squatted down. Now in front of her face, as the Saintess slightly blushed and Kai began to ask if she was also from the modern world. To this, the Saintess nodded, saying that one day she suddenly got teleported to the temple.
"Peux-tu l'expliquer un peu ?"
Kai asked if she could tell him in details, as the Saintess nodded, beginning her story on how she ended up here.
Apparently, the Saintess name was Louis, currently twenty-four years old. It happened two years ago, when she was university student in France. A great family, good friends, a prospective career; she had it all and was great full to have such life. But what bought more happiness to her life was anime and manga.
A delicate beauty from the outside, making a great image of herself in the society. But once she's alone, she becomes her nerd self; watching anime or reading manga in her room. And inspired from all this, she one day decided to go to Japan. On her arrival, she began to visit all the places, taking pictures as she made her way to her booked hotel.
But on her way, she noticed a bright light behind her. Turning back, there she was a girl standing surprised, and below her was forming a glowing magic circle. Louis's mind quickly shifted to a mange she read before, where the protagonist had the same thing happened to him and was later teleported to another world. And seeing the same event happening in front of her, she quickly began to take pictures as her nerdy-self woke up. But as she was taking pictures and moving behind, she by mistake stepped on a dog's tail and it began to change her. And as she ran away from it, she mistakenly pushed the girl which was inside the circle out and stepped inside it herself.
As she stepped in, the circle began to glow more brightly and a blinding glow began to form. She quickly closed her eyes, but the next moment when she reopened her eyes, she was inside the temple where the people were worshipping her and she became the Saintess.
Listening to her story, Kai only had one thought in his mind; "So for the last two years, she was living a life she wasn't actually meant to have, huh."
Kai thought again, thinking she wasn't really a threat when the Louis quickly grabbed his hand and began to speak excitedly.
"Mais tu es un vrai ! Tu es-"
But Kai reacted first, putting his finger on her lips as he said; "C'est du passé."
But Louis beamed more, her eyes sparkled as she thought; "Il est tellement cool!"
The two then discussed what to tell the others outside, as Louis said that she won't reveal his secret to which Kai agreed, trusting her on it as they walked out; with Kai being on his wheelchair and Louis pushing his wheels.
Once outside, Hiro asked how the things went inside as Louis just nodded with a smile, indicating it was all good. Kai looked at her act, thinking to himself;
"Been here for two years, and yet she could get the language here. So, she came up with an idea to say that due to being connected to the divine realm, she is unable to speak the language here. Very interesting…"
Louis blessed them all, as the group made their way out. But as they were about to go out, of the door, a thought suddenly hit Louis as she for the first time, spoke out her voice to outsiders.
"L'autre âme est toujours vivante."
Her voice said, as everyone looked back with a confuse look; except for Kai. He had a serious look, along with Louis as they two looked at each other in understanding to what she meant.
