I launched up and kicked the Author, who launched back, before making illusions of himself all around him.
I realized that it was like Te*sura, only someone with a Supreme skill held any chance of besting one with a Supreme skill. Because the power level was too great.
{Phobophobia: Avatar of Fear}
Then I could see exactly what was real, and what was not?
I launched towards him, my innocent face turning cruel and warped.
I grabbed him and slammed him, causing him to gasp, before he launched up and rewrote my arm to break.
It flew back and snapped.
I noticed something. Every time that he would control an aspect of me, a book appeared in front of him.
My power echoed throughout existence as I launched into his side, then the book appeared.
Of course, right where it was, was also my blade.
The Book cracked and popped before shivering, then I realized something deeply important.
I leapt back and delved into my core, where I found the book I read so long ago, that showed heaven, hell, and earth.
I sliced it in half, before returning to my consciousness. The Author, now, had no control over me, he could only fight around me. Of course, despite knowing that he couldn't stop me, he still used the chance to set up a trap.
When I looked back through my eyes, 700 incredibly thin spikes launched into my heart, causing me to scream, then the Author kicked me, breaking the spikes and launching me back.
He grabbed my head and punched it, causing it to explode.
I was a supreme being, but the Author was Supremacy itself almost.
I snapped and cut his arm, but the Author simply regenerated and kneed my regenerating face in.
I leapt back and regenerated and I saw the Author with a smile.
I blocked his next attack, then it was my turn.
I launched forward and cut his arm, then I kicked his stomach, before jumping up and trying to slice off his head, but instead, he dodged and summoned a sword before slashing my arm off.
I realized that I needed to go all out, so I summoned all of my strength and shifted into a dragon. At this point, my head alone was the size of Selethon's capital.
I hovered and the Author laughed.
{What fun, I can do that too.}
Then he grew to my size.
Then he lashed at me and grabbed onto my arm, pulling me.
I roared and breathed world magic on his face.
That seemed to be the first thing that hurt him in this battle.
He roared and kicked me, launching me far back.
He shot towards me like an arrow and sliced my side with a knife hand.
He seemed to have a martial art of his own.
Then miniature books flew around him and then stars summoned all around us, before forming into blades.
I managed to dodge half, but the other half stabbed me.
I roared and let out another barrage of World magic, but he dodged this one.
Of course, that wasn't what I wrote.
He had a look of surprise when my magic turned and struck his back, quickly followed by another blast to his face.
I lunged into his stomach, biting down, making him roar in pain.
He ripped me off, severely injuring his stomach, then he launched into me and landed a palm thrust on my chest, shattering multiple of my bones, then he launched me into the void, shooting his own magic into my stomach, causing me to roar.
He launched into me again, bashing my sides. Then he ripped off my wings.
Both sets.
I roared in agony and bit down on his throat, but he grabbed me and pulled my jaw in half.
{You have had several battles, several severe battles, but never could someone even touch you without my interference, but how do you think you'd fare against someone who can make even the weakest defeat you.}
I laughed.
{Please, you can't do anything to me.}
{Oh, I can, because I finally realized something. Why Jalad had pain whenever you were called to a meeting between shards, why, even now, he could permeate the broadcast. It's because Kala was quite intelligent.}
I looked at him confused, then I realized.
{He's an anchor.}
{Indeed, a small, so minute it never even mattered until now, shard rests in that human.}
{You can't-}
He slashed my throat, making me cough, before cheekily saying Kala's favorite quote.
{All's fair in love and war.}
Then he left the void, so I did too.
He was regular size, and I was in catkin.
He slashed at Jalad, but I narrowly blocked it, sacrificing my left arm to do so.
{This fight is between us. Leave him out of this.}
{Oh, but didn't I just explain, he is part of you, in fact, he's the reason why you are so hard to kill. Because of his nature, he, like you, contains a shard of Kala, if I destroy him, then and only then can I kill you.}
The words caused shock among the people in the stadium. Jalad, a shard, or at least containing one? That opened up so many questions and answered many others.
Then I smiled, Jalad barely had any piece, so I reached out.
{Jalad, trust me, this will hurt, but only for a moment.}
His eyes softened, then he reached out his hand, grasping mine, then he started screaming. Light emanating from his core, then it left through his mouth and flowed into me.
He fell back and began coughing. Then it stopped and he refocused.
Then I looked back at the Author.
{Now, it is me. All of me facing All of you.}
{Indeed, you are stronger now, but you now are killable. Truly killable.}
{No longer will your tricks work… because they won't need to.}
{Agreed.}
Then, once again, we were in the void.
{Are you ready to die?}
{I should ask you the same question.}
He launched into me, more power than he let out before, but I was faster than before. I struck as hard as I could. Launching him back, I caught up, before he slammed me into earth that he summoned.
{Finally, I can stop holding back.}
His power emanated greater than anything I felt before. The Beast faced me, an eight headed dragon.
He kept his guise, but I knew who I truly faced then.
"You are evil itself."
Then he smiled.
{You, Phobophobia, are the Avatar of Fear. I am the Avatar of Sin, Peccatum. Celios is a name I used elsewhere.}
Then he smiled.
{So, Phobos, do you think you can win?}
So, I smiled in turn.
{Why not?}
I knew how to truly win.
Phobophobia, merge with me.
… Very well.
She imbued herself into me. From the infant in the cradle to the Warrior Queen.
{]I am Rose Cales.[}
My power expanded, and the Author realized what I was doing.
A shockwave that shook, even past the void, echoed, but the Author realized something.
As I reached my climax of strength, he impaled me, grabbed my sword and completed my pattern before snapping it on his leg.
{I'm not some anime character, who'd let you power up. I know I would lose if you unleashed that… Goodbye for the last time, Rose Hood.}
{Goodbye, Celios Peccatum.}
Then my life faded.
