Yuta walked through the ruined streets of the colony, his eyes scanning for any sign of Geto—or Kenjaku, to be exact. He had been tracking him for a while now, but with no luck. He anticipated that Geto would be a player or something since he was responsible for making this Culling Game, but maybe he was wrong now that he thought about it.
While he was doing a good job clearing out the new colony he found himself in, there was still no sign of Geto. As he went further, suddenly, he felt something—a disgusting squelching noise made him stop. He turned to see a massive cockroach-like cursed spirit staring at him with beady, soulless eyes.
"Oh great… a giant humanoid cockroach," Yuta muttered, already feeling annoyed. He was no longer even surprised seeing creatures like this. He had seen worse in One Piece at this point.
The curse, Kurourushi, let out a horrible screech and charged at him. Yuta sighed, dodging effortlessly. "Alright, fine, I'll play with you for a bit."
He threw a few casual punches without ROFA, still doing his own battle training. After all, he had seen how powerful people in the One Piece world were. He couldn't be that strong with this normal physique, but he could at least reach his peak in this body—without ROFA. His attacks didn't do much to the cursed spirit, though. Maybe it was the curse energy or his natural body, but its defenses were quite strong.
The cursed spirit threw more attacks at him, but he was able to dodge easily.
Then, out of nowhere, Kurourushi pulled out a nasty-looking blade. Before Yuta could even realize why there were cockroaches in the chopping knife, the curse launched roach-shaped missiles straight at him.
Yuta's eyes widened. "What in the..."
His instincts screamed at him, and he barely dodged at the last second. The explosion behind him sent dust flying. It was only because of his Spider-Sense that he dodged in time.
"Hey, please don't call that thing a knife while it launches cockroach missiles is borderline criminal," Yuta retorted.
But the cursed spirit didn't wait for him—more missiles came at him.
"Alright... alright, playtime's over."
In an instant, multiple giant arms formed around him using his Hana Hana no Mi powers. Then, with a single stomp, he summoned a massive foot, easily towering over Kurourushi.
"Crush."
With ROFA's power amplifying the impact, the foot came down like a meteor. The cockroach curse screeched before being completely flattened, leaving nothing but a disgusting mess.
"Gross. Good thing that wasn't my real foot, but gross..."
"I swear, if that Geto doesn't show up soon, I'm gonna lose it..." Grumbling, he kept on going.
Yuta sighed, rubbing his temples. "I swear, all I want is to find that monk. Why is that so hard?"
After squashing the cockroach curse, he had continued his search, but luck just wasn't on his side. Instead of finding Kenjaku, he found more trouble.
Two powerful-looking sorcerers stood before him, staring him down like he was some kind of intruder—which he kind of was, but he wasn't going to accept that fact. One was a tall woman with flowing hair, Takako Uro, while the other was a broad-shouldered guy with a wild haircut, Ryu Ishigori.
"You're not who I was looking for," Yuta said, already tired.
Takako scoffed. "Neither were you."
Ryu cracked his neck, his grin widening. "But it looks like we've found ourselves a nice little brawl."
Yuta raised an eyebrow. "You guys wanna fight me?"
Takako crossed her arms. "Not exactly. This colony was controlled by three powerful sorcerers. You just killed one."
Ryu laughed. "Which means there's a vacant spot for the other two to capture."
Yuta blinked. "Wait. You guys are fighting over land?" Why did sorcerers even have to do something so silly?
Takako narrowed her eyes. "It's more than just land. This is about power."
Ryu pointed at Yuta with a confident smirk. "And since you're standing in the middle of it, that makes you part of the game too."
Yuta groaned. "Nope, not interested. I don't earn anywhere near enough to get a place in the core city like this." Yuta waved his hand. He'd rather just avoid the fight. All he had been doing after coming here was fighting, and he was tired.
Before he could talk his way out, Takako suddenly vanished—and the next thing Yuta knew, the space around him twisted unnaturally, throwing him off balance.
"Bending space itself—what kind of cursed technique is that?" Yuta muttered, flipping midair to land on his feet.
Takako controlled the very sky, using it like a shield and a weapon. Before Yuta could fully regain his footing, Ryu fired a massive energy blast, tearing through the battlefield.
"Sigh... they are not listening," Yuta said, cracking his knuckles. "Let's get this over with quick."
Yuta dodged left, barely avoiding another one of Ryu's devastating blasts. Yuta had never seen something like this before—this guy with the strange haircut was shooting pure beams of cursed energy at him, and that too from his hair. He could sense that this guy had a very high output of cursed energy.
The woman intercepted the attack, bending the space around, making the attack return to its owner. Then she came at him from the side, using the sky itself to bend space, making her movements unpredictable.
Yuta didn't do anything. It was easy enough for him to understand Uro's technique—it had really good defense and counter ability, but when it came to attack, she lacked. So as long as whatever attack was coming wasn't very strong, Rika could handle it, and that's exactly what happened. Rika acted up, blocking Takako's attack by cutting out all the motions around Yuta.
"You guys are seriously going all out already?"
Ryu grinned. "Of course! Why hold back?"
'I don't know, maybe so that you don't start one-shotting things.' Grumbling to himself, he just shook his head.
Yuta countered with a quick slash, forcing Takako to retreat. But before he could breathe, Ryu charged in—his fist glowing with cursed energy.
"Try taking this!"
BOOM!
Yuta barely managed to block, but the force sent him skidding backward. He gritted his teeth.
"Alright. You asked for it…"
Yuta suddenly disappeared, moving at blinding speed. He reappeared behind Ryu, Playful Cloud swinging.
Crack.
Ryu blocked with his bare arm—a mistake, honestly. His hand was broken and twisted at an unnatural angle.
"Noice."
But before Ryu could even let out another scream, Yuta punched him with ROFA on this time, smashing him and sending him flying.
Takako tried to capitalize, warping space to trap Yuta, but Yuta activated Time Skip and vanished.
With the opening created, Yuta rushed forward, fist crackling with power. Uro looked calm—most physical attacks didn't work on her. Her technique could bend space, making almost all attacks coming toward her deflect.
However, not this time. Just as Yuta's punch fell…
"Crack."
The space itself started to crack. Multiple spider-like fractures started to form in the sky like a mirror shattering.
And before she even knew it, she too was sent flying.
"So... does that mean I own this place now?"
