Claudia Ross choked up briefly before continuing, "Mark told me that Bernard Bosc completed the mission, so Giana must have been killed by Jolene Yander. Dad, Giana's so pitiful."
Tabby Teller's mind buzzed, his hand instinctively reaching for his chest. Through the shirt, he could still feel the jagged scar.
His heart ached fiercely, as if trying to tell him something.
"And then…?" Tabby Teller's lips trembled, his voice dry and rasping, his entire being feeling as though he had fallen into an endless abyss.
Claudia Ross wiped away her tears. "I was feeling so sad at the time that I cried."
"Then Mark's fiancée, Sharry Vaux, walked in. She insisted that I was crying and begging Mark not to marry her, and she said a lot of nasty things."
"I couldn't stand it, so I threw lemonade at her. But I never hit her! She pushed Mark herself and slammed into the café table."
