Perhaps some gang members spotted a well-dressed rich guy sitting here and got the idea to kidnap him. That would be... kind of absurd.
"Alright," she nodded, "then go ahead and eat. I'll sit here and keep you company."
The landlady poured her a bowl of hot tea and handed it over: "Miss, it's cold out, have some hot tea to warm your stomach while you wait."
The landlady looked at Nian Shen, wanting to say something but swallowed her words.
But then, suddenly decided to speak: "Your girlfriend is really impressive! Just now, a few thugs tried to take advantage of her, but she drove them off."
