The huge array they had spent days, preparing — the one they thought would save them all — vanished in an instant.
All because of a single word from Reign.
Some dropped to their knees, unable to understand what they were seeing.
Others shook so badly they could not even hold their rods anymore. The polished rods fell from their hands, clattering loudly on the cracked ground.
The sky, which had been full of raging lightning moments ago, turned empty and quiet.
The bright lines of power on the ground, once like rivers of light, flickered and died out, leaving only dust and ash.
"So quiet? What happened? All of you were shouting a lot before," Reign chuckled.
