It has been three hours since we travelled across the sea toward Erisen. During this time, I sat by the window, watching the occasional schools of fish swim by.
I then looked at the girls, who were animatedly looking outside.
"Wow, there are so many fish," Myu said, her eyes sparkling.
"Yes, this is quite a sight," Tio agreed.
"Pretty," Kaori said, her eyes sparkling just like Myu's.
"Isn't that right, Shizu?"
"Yeah," Shizuku smiled.
"Master, can I hunt?" Tohru asked, drooling, seeing the large number of fish.
"Not now, Tohru. If you want fish, I still have some."
Hearing my response, Tohru became sad.
"Sigh"
[These days, I am sighing too much.]
"How about you hunt after we reach Erisen? I will even cook for you," I said, noticing her downcast look.
"Ok~," Tohru chirped, raising her fist. You are the best master.
After cheering her up, I decided to meditate. I went to my chamber and, sitting cross-legged, took deep breaths to refine my mana core.
After half an hour, I open my eyes, feeling the mana core working properly.
"It was about time for me to show them the way to form their own mana core."
Just then, I heard Hajime call out.
"Oi, Rihito, come here," a voice came from the intercom.
"Hmm… did something happen?"
"What is it?" I asked, entering the cockpit.
"Look at this," Hajime pointed at the radar as it continued to ring with a beeping noise.
I looked at the radar and saw a lot of red dots surrounding the submarine.
"Intruders? And quite a few of them." I looked at the multiple red dots beeping, indicating something foreign was surrounding us.
I then pressed a button that shut down every window in the submarine just in case.
The girls, seeing the windows suddenly getting shut, looked in the direction of the cockpit.
"Did something happen?" they wondered.
"Do we have a visual?" I asked.
"Hmm…" Hajime, with a hum, pressed a few buttons, and the screens displayed the situation outside, causing my eyes to widen.
Our submarine is surrounded by about 20 men holding a trident.
"Hajime, aren't those…" I said, lowering my voice, and looking at their features, which resemble Myu's.
"Dagons, there is no doubt about it," Hajime spoke the words I had been wanting to say.
"What should we do now?" Hajime asked, seeing the sticky situation we were in.
Remembering the memories from the anime, I knew why they were here and had an idea of what to do. However, would they even listen to us?
"Let's talk things out first."
"And what if they didn't listen?" Hajime asked.
"If it doesn't work, we will use force," I said, rolling my eyes.
"Well, I guess that works," Hajime nodded with a smile.
"You really like using violence, don't you?" I said exasperatedly.
Hajime shrugged. "You can't tell me it's not the fastest and most effective method for dealing with demihumans."
Well, I can't deny that, until now, the demihumans only listened to the strong. This was also true in the Sea of Trees. If we hadn't proven ourselves to be stronger than them, I'm sure it would have been much more challenging to assist the Haulias.
"We should get going then." Seeing that I was not rejecting the idea, Hajime nodded.
With that, Hajime started to take the submarine to the surface.
The girls, sensing the submarine was suddenly going up, looked at each other. "There is really something wrong here"
Shizuku looked at Shea and Kaori, nodding at them.
Leaving Myu with Shea and Kaori, they headed towards the cockpit.
The automatic door opened as the girls entered.
"Hajime, Rihito, what's going on?" Yue spoke, leading the way.
Hajime and I looked at each other in silent agreement.
"Look at that," I pointed at the screens.
I then explained the situation outside.

"I see. So, you think those Dagon are currently in search of Myu." Shizuku said.
"You are worried that they will not hear you out and just attack?" Tio said, contemplating.
"And because they might be someone Myu might know, you don't want to hurt them?" Yue asked.
I nodded, "Yeah, kinda."
"Master." Tohru raised her hand.
Seeing her eagerness, I had an idea of what she wanted to say.
"Go on," I said as everyone looked at her. By the expression they had, they also had an idea of what she was about to say.
Yue [She wants to burn them.]
Tio [She wants to burn them.]
Shizuku [She definitely wants to burn them.]
"Master, how about we beat them up and make them listen?"
"..."
Not exactly what they thought, but it was close enough, as everyone sighed.
"Not a bad idea. That will be our plan B," I acknowledged.
"..."
Hearing that, Shizuku looked at me with an, Are you serious? Look.
Tohru puffed out her chest with pride upon seeing her idea selected.
"What? Don't look at me like that. In this case, that's a valid idea; even they agree." I pointed at Hajime, Yue and Tio.
Shizuku looked at the others and saw they were acting like it was normal.
Sigh
Shizuku gave up, "Do what you want. Just don't go overboard."
"..."
Hajime Nods, "Don't worry, Yaegashi, we will just rough them up a bit."
"Well, that settles it."
…
Outside
The hatch opened as Hajime and I came out.
As soon as we did, we heard multiple angry shouts.
"YOU BASTARDS!! YOU GUYS ARE HERE TO KIDNAP CHILDREN AGAIN," the dagon who looked like the leader shouted.
"HOW DARE YOU KIDNAP MYU!" said the one on his left.
"YOU WILL PAY FOR THAT!" said another.
With that, all the dagon started to shout, pointing their tridents. "Yeah! Give her back or face the consequences!"
All the dagons surrounding us hurled profanities and curses as they were ready to lunge.
[This is not looking good.] Rihito frowned.
"Hey, listen here. We are not here to harm or kidnap…" Before I could say more, I was cut off.
"SHUT UP, YOU SCUM. YOU WILL NOT DESEIVE US," one of the dagon shouted and lunged with his trident.
"Plan B it is." Hajime looked at this and pulled out a large fish, almost as long as he was. He swung it at the incoming dagon like a bat.
'Smack' with a crisp slapping noise, dagon was swatting away.
"Guess negotiations failed, don't you think?" Hajime said, looking at the angry dagons.
"Attack"
"Don't let them get away."
"You think you can get away?"
Rihito saw all this and sighed.
"Yeah, I guess plan B it is." Rihito's shoulder dropped.
Rihito pulled out another large fish as large as Hajime.
"Fish slapping it is."
"GET THEM!" The dagons pointed their trident and lunged.
Rihito looked at the dagon and shrugged. "I tried."
Smack!
With a slapping sound, the multiple dagons were sent flying.
"Ahh!"
"Bastard, you will pay for that."
Rihito stared at the man who was screaming and lunging, ready to impale him with the trident. But before he could...
Smack!
Rihito swung the fish with a powerful smack, sending the dagon flying through the air.
His eyes then fell at rest.
"You guys asked for this…" I declared with a poker face.
After that, for a few minutes, multiple painful screams and smacking sounds reverberated throughout the area.
