The Ratman nest near Wasteland Mountain was quickly destroyed, but overly curious players couldn't help themselves and witnessed the entire process of the twisted giant mother rats breeding Ratmen at the deepest part of the pit.
Nobody shared those scenes; they simply painfully recalled them as evil, and with absolute disgust, set fire to the nest inside and out.
Not all the Ratmen were eliminated; some escaped in the fight, while others were captured alive by vampires who joined the players in the raid. These captives would be taken back to Crimson Castle for further research to determine their various conditions.
With the burning of the last group of Ratmen, the winner of the hunting competition, set by Murphy for the second chapter of the racial mainline, was announced: Akuen of the Crimson Beast Group claimed victory with a commanding lead.
His kill count was nearly a thousand higher than Sister Pomegranate in second place, earning him Murphy's staff-sword.
