Splash-
The sound of water could be heard in the dark Shadow World.
Everyone who had just entered surfaced one after another.
"Hey, why is there so much water in here?!"
In the darkness, Kanzai's astonished voice rang out.
Before anyone could respond, Kanzai continued:
"Pfft, water or no water isn't important. What the hell was that just now? That black thing... did you all see it? Did it flatten that monster?! What the hell is that thing?!"
A series of questions spilled from Kanzai's mouth, echoing in the dark space.
Pyon, who was not far away, rolled her eyes when she heard this.
Everyone is new here, so how could they possibly know what that thing is?
"That thing is called 'Feather of Gravity'."
Along with the sound of water, Moses's voice suddenly rang out.
"Huh?"
When the people soaking in the lake water heard Moses's words, they couldn't help but feel surprised.
In the darkness, they couldn't see clearly, but they could still tell the direction by sound, so they all turned toward a certain spot in the darkness.
They knew Moses was in that direction.
Kanzai was the first to voice the confusion in everyone's minds: "Moses, you know what that thing is?! Have you seen it before?!"
"I haven't seen it, and I don't know it."
"Huh? Then how do you know it's called Feather of Gravity?"
"I just named it."
Moses's tone was calm.
"..."
"…"
"…"
The only sounds left in the Nen space were the occasional splashes of water.
A few seconds later, Kanzai exclaimed in a tone of sudden realization:
"Oh right, there's a saying, 'as heavy as a feather'… I mean, 'as light as a feather'. Who would've thought, Moses, you're quite the namer, with reason and evidence, easy to understand. You've got a knack for it."
"..."
"…"
"…"
After hearing Kanzai's words, the only sounds left in the Nen space were the occasional splashes of water.
'Rather than spending time and effort to explain, perhaps letting Kanzai misunderstand would save more trouble.'
'As Kanzai himself said, it's easy to understand...'
'Most importantly, Kanzai rarely uses idioms correctly, so let's respect his interpretation.'
Moses felt a bit complicated but didn't correct Kanzai's mistake, and even Pyon, who often clashed with Kanzai, held back.
Without getting hung up on the topic of names, Moses calmly said:
"It's pretty unlucky that we ran into this level of surprise right after arriving, but seeing something as unreasonable as Feather of Gravity here, we can pretty much confirm this is the Dark Continent."
"It seems that..."
Biscuit said thoughtfully:
"The Divine Script that ancient humans left behind in the Six Continents can really send people directly to the Dark Continent. I don't know much about Divine Scripts, but being able to cross such a long distance is still quite unbelievable when you think about it."
"Yeah."
Moses softly agreed with Biscuit.
But in his view, compared to the overall size of the Dark Continent, the distance from the Six Continents to the Dark Continent isn't that significant.
Thinking about it, the Dark Continent is vast and boundless. Without something like the Pipeline for fast travel, the effort required to get from one place to another is unimaginable.
"Once we're safe, we'll confirm our location immediately."
Moses only saw the darkness and couldn't see the others, but he could vaguely feel their gazes.
After hearing Moses's words, everyone naturally had no objections.
Only Hisoka had something to say.
"Is this what you mean by... a little favor ♧?"
His tone was very calm, making it hard to gauge his current emotions.
Menchi and the others didn't know what to say, so they could only look towards the direction where Hisoka's voice came from with a slightly sympathetic look.
Moses, however, continued on his own:
"In a way, the most terrifying things on the Dark Continent aren't the giant creatures, but rather those with various bizarre abilities."
At this point, he paused, then asked with confusion: "Hisoka, I think I just heard your voice. Did you say something?"
"…"
Hearing this, Hisoka resisted the urge to respond.
Because he was already familiar with Moses's style and knew that even if he responded, Moses would ignore him the next second.
And that's exactly what happened.
After Moses finished speaking, just a second later, he continued as if nothing had happened: "So no matter what happens in the future, you must be cautious."
"Then how do we confirm our location?"
Kanzai asked curiously.
Moses squinted in Kanzai's direction and said:
"The only information we can rely on is the contents of the book [New World Travelogue: East] provided by Ging, so as long as we can find the geographical features recorded in the book, we can roughly confirm our location."
"…"
Kanzai was silent for a long time.
Moses frowned, wondering if Kanzai hadn't understood.
Pyon, who wasn't far from Kanzai, obviously understood this guy's character and sighed:
"Zaikan, is this hard to understand? Oh right, you didn't read any of the materials, did you? But even if you did, it probably wouldn't change much."
"I didn't read them, so what? I'm part of the defense team, so my job is to protect you all."
Kanzai felt provoked and raised his voice slightly: "So do you even know what 'each have their own job' means, you stupid rabbit!"
"It's 'each to their own duty,' you idiot."
Pyon responded to Kanzai with an exaggerated sigh.
In the darkness, Kanzai's veins bulged as usual.
Moses shook his head helplessly.
He was used to the dynamic between these two Zodiacs and didn't intervene, but instead focused on the situation outside.
The shadow channel sped across the pure white land.
It was not until this moment that Moses have the mind to observe the surrounding environment.
White, rough, and endless.
This is the environment they are in.
…
A/N: The earlier chapters, which emphasized Divine Scripts and Post-Mortem Nen, were initially prepared for the Dark Continent.
Whether they'll be used later is hard to say, so we'll just take it step by step.
In fact, my idea for the ancient Teleportation Divine Script was simply because I thought the Dark Continent was too damn big.
So I came up with the 'Divine Script·Pipeline·Teleportation Point' map-running mechanic.
And my initial idea for this was inspired by the pipes in Super Mario, hahaha!
