Chapter 1 - Ch. 1 The First chosen

" You're telling me, I have to move on?"

" No. You can never move on from the past that shaped who you are."

I could only sit on the floor and process the words from him.

Anger, regret, sadness and reluctance.

" I fought for my family… to protect those who couldn't protect themselves, I'll be damned if can't—!"

" Son, you did your job, a honorable fate you led yourself. You inspired others to follow in your footsteps."

I held my head trying to keep myself together as tears covered my eyes.

" My brothers, mom… dad…" I cried as their faces flashed through my head imagining how they would react to my death.

" Just to let you know Son, they felt proud of you…"

As if adding fuel to the fire, I heard the sobs escaping my mouth.

The man gave me space as I tried to control my emotions after a few minutes.

" Alright… I— I think I'm fine." I wiped my eyes to look at the old man who nodded.

Now that I've got a clear mind, I found myself surrounded in a dark space surround by tiny stars lighting the space.

The old man himself, he had the look of a man with years of experience and understanding.

" Now, the reason you're here and why I plucked you out from the cycle of reincarnation was two things."

He held up two fingers.

" The first reason is simple, You're Karma has reached a positive level to the point that it would be a waste for it to disappear in the cycle of reincarnation."

I nodded, I didn't know how specific my level of Karma is but I didn't bother to ask since I know it's positive.

" Second reason is that I need to use this positive Karma to help the cycle of reincarnation."

"Huh?"

He tapped his chin before opening his mouth again.

" Hmm, You see that star?" He pointed up.

" Yeah. What about it?" I asked as I spotted the bright white star.

" That is your star at the moment. Like any star of they get too massive it'll collapse and create a black hole effecting the space around them."

" Oh… So the more Positive Karma I have, the chance of my soul collapsing?"

The old man nodded.

" More specifically, your mortal soul will burst from your physical body and other souls lesser than you will be absorbed or effected in the world you reside."

I nodded.

" Alright, before we move on. Is my family going to be fine?"

" If you wish, I could use some of your positive Karma for a blessing for them." He suggested.

" Please." I bowed my head.

" Of course, but you must be aware that the gifts I'll be giving you would lessen." He warned but I didn't waver as I wanted my family to live happily.

" Alright, let's start this." He rolled up his sleeves as he placed his hands on the small table between us.

He revealed a roulette table and without hesitation he spun it before dropping a ball.

We both watched as the ball began to slow down and nervousness began to crept up.

The ball landed on a red.

The old man's face hardened as he grabbed the ball.

" The world you've been chosen to is a little difficult …" he paused as I felt my hands tense in nervousness

" Well?" I managed to squeak out.

With a sigh he opened his mouth.

" The world is from a game called Cyberpunk 2077."

Cyberpunk 2077, a game that was created in 2020. Many fans have waited for the games release only to be disappointed. I remembered the shouts that came from my brothers room as he complained about the bugs in the game.

I didn't get the chance to play it ever since my brothers complaints against the game.

Years later they managed to fix the bugs in the game and even made an anime about it along with a DLC, though I didn't get to play the game ever since the update nor watched the anime.

But I still managed to pick up a few things from my brother over the phone.

" Sigh, alright, let's hope I get something better." I replied.

The old man nodded and spun the roulette again with the ball.

The ball stopped landing on black. Picking up the ball the old man looked deeply into the ball.

A glint of surprise flashes across his face before transforming into a smile.

" Congrats, you got a blessing." He said.

My eyebrow rose when I heard of the blessing.

" Haha! And it's a blessing from the goddess of Luck!"

Luck huh, I felt a little confused about the blessing but decided to accept it.

" Surprisingly this is a good one, it's Luck Manipulation. This would allow you to manipulate luck for five minutes." He smirked.

For five minutes I would be able to manipulate my own luck? Not was a very powerful ability I smiled to myself.

The man tossed the ball into the roulette once more.

Landing on a red, he picked up the ball and stared at it before speaking with a surprise tone.

" Oh, well look at that. A Template."

A template? As a character template I wondered just like those Fanfiction I've read.

" it's a character from assassin creed, Ezio Auditore." He revealed.

Oh, well that's definitely a surprise especially since I've played assassin creed when I was young with my brother.

A template of my favorite character isn't something I would complain about.

" Well, You still have a bit of Karma left." He said while covering the roulette wheel.

" I can use the rest of that Karma to give you good start in your new life."

" That would be great, thank you."

The man smiled as he clapped his hands together and as the sounds reached my ears I felt myself flying back.

" Goodbye, and good luck Kid."
