However, the sudden shift in his purpose leads him back to Osborn, accepting the offer.
Osborn then fixed a meeting with Marauders, and introduced them to him.
"Sinister, they are Marauders. They'll provide you with the subjects you need for your experiments."
Marauder leader, replied grinning, "We're in it for the money. You get us the cash, and we'll get you the 'volunteers'."
Sinister was granted access to wide amounts of genetic material, even the DNA of Wolverine, Charles, Jean Grey, Nightcrawler and even more.
With it he developed experimental drugs.
After taking the experimental drugs, Sinister shouted with chuckling, "The power coursing through me. Hypnosis, control, invisibility. I am no longer bound by the limitations of mere mortals."
But soon, the side effects of the drugs appeared.
And Sinister went insane, hallucinating that Apocalypse wanted him to do his bidding.
In his hallucination, he started thinking that Apocalypse speaks to him. And wants him to usher in his reign, and he shall be his harbinger."
With his hypnosis powers, Sinister can make someone to do suicide with just his simple command, 'Choke Yourself'.
"Apocalypse demands sacrifice. Ten mutants must fall for his rebirth," Sinister said in a maniacal tone, he was becoming mad.
---
He went to the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning, planning to kill Professor X and nine other mutants.
Sinister had used strong hypnosis, and it was so powerful that even Professor X couldn't resist. Xavier was thrown down a flight of stairs.
Rogue saw this and became furious. "You won't hurt anyone else, Sinister!" she shouted.
After going on a killing spree, targeting several mutants, Sinister was finally stopped by Rogue. She defeated him and had him locked up in the Triskelion prison.
While in prison, with a wicked smile, Sinister said, "This is just the beginning. Apocalypse's will shall win in the end."
Later in his cell, Sinister had a vision of Lord Apocalypse. But Apocalypse was angry at Sinister for failing. As a cruel punishment, he gave one command: "Choke yourself."
And Sinister does it, but at the end time, Jean stopped him.
---
Sinister was put on suicide watch for several weeks. S.H.I.E.L.D. made sure to keep anything dangerous away from him. But even with all their efforts, Sinister was found dead in his cell—he had suffocated himself by stuffing his shirt down his throat.
However, it was later discovered that Sinister had faked his own death. He escaped from the S.H.I.E.L.D. morgue by using a new ability he had developed—full control over his body at the cellular level. This allowed him to shape-shift and trick everyone.
Now free, Sinister became a loyal servant of Apocalypse and was made one of his Horsemen.
Apocalypse gave him control over a part of North America and put him in charge of the Breeding Pens—where Sinister worked to create more powerful mutants.
---
Sinister then created his own powerful police force called the Elite Mutant Force. The team included Dark Beast, Cyclops, Havok, Aurora, Northstar, Amazon, and Cannonball. Emplate and the M Twins were also part of the team at one point.
Standing in his domain, Sinister declared,
"Welcome to my world, where evolution follows my command. I am the creator of a new age—the one who shapes mutants into perfection."
Ironically, anyone who refused to join the Elite Mutant Force was sent to live in the Breeding Pens—a place where Sinister experimented on mutants.
Using the genetic material of other mutants, he began altering humans to give them superhuman physical and mental abilities.
He also increased his own powers. Sinister gained the ability to project energy using telekinesis. He could now regenerate quickly and became nearly impossible to injure. He even developed the power to teleport.
With access to so much genetic material and power, Sinister used it all to create deadly forces—the Madri, the Infinites, Apocalypse's army, and a group of minds called the Brain Trust.
He also created Nate Grey using the DNA of Cyclops and Jean Grey. Sinister's secret plan was to have Nate destroy Apocalypse.
---
Sinister eventually turned against Apocalypse. Their different beliefs clashed when Sinister finally confronted him face-to-face.
"Your vision is a danger to all life. I won't let your madness destroy this world," Sinister shouted.
Apocalypse, shocked and angry, replied, "Betrayal, Sinister? You were supposed to be the one to lead evolution—not destroy it!"
But Sinister stood firm. "I change with the times, Apocalypse. Your plans to wipe out the weak go too far," he said calmly, already thinking several steps ahead.
To hide his betrayal, Sinister destroyed his own lab, making it look like he had disappeared or died. He vanished from the public eye.
Now on the run again, Sinister changed his appearance. He wore a belt and outfit similar to Apocalypse's, almost as if he was mocking him—or claiming to replace him.
He had heard rumors about the Morlocks, a group of hidden mutants living in the sewers beneath New York.
Curious and planning something new, Sinister went down into the sewers. There, he found a small green-skinned mutant—Leech, known for his ability to cancel out other mutants' powers.
Sinister looked into the child's eyes, then used his hypnosis.
"Come with me, little one," he said softly but firmly. "Your special powers will help me in what's coming next."
---
Meanwhile, at the Xavier Mansion, Jean Grey sat quietly in front of Cerebro, her mind focused and intense. After a few moments, she pulled off the helmet and stood up quickly.
"Sinister is still alive," she said firmly. "And we need to stop him before he causes even more destruction. Bishop's X-Men—assemble! We have a dangerous enemy to take down."
Bishop, already prepared for action, nodded and called out to his team.
"X-Men, suit up. We're not letting Sinister escape this time."
---
Down in the sewers beneath New York, Sinister arrived at the hidden home of the Morlocks, a community of mutants who had been forced to live underground. His eyes scanned the shadows, searching for something—or someone.
Suddenly, Nightcrawler appeared from the darkness, recognizing the danger.
"Sinister, I won't let you hurt these innocent people," he growled, then quickly teleported Leech to a safe place.
But Sinister continued moving deeper into the tunnels. There, he met Sunder, a strong and loyal Morlock. Sinister used his hypnosis on him, taking control of Sunder's mind.
"Bring me the weak ones," he whispered. "The easy targets."
Sunder obeyed without question, leading Sinister to unaware mutants who couldn't fight back.
Just as Sinister was about to attack again, a bright light flashed—the X-Men had teleported in. Bishop, Jean, Wolverine, Storm, and others were ready for battle.
Sinister smiled coldly as he raised his hand to strike Dazzler, who stood frozen in fear.
But in that moment, Angel swooped in, flying fast and strong. He grabbed Dazzler just in time, saving her from the deadly blast—his wings glowing as he flew her to safety.
But then something strange happened.
Sinister's body began to glow, and he slowly floated up into the air. His eyes turned red as he reached into the minds of everyone nearby.
Using powerful telepathic manipulation, Sinister caused confusion and panic.
He made the X-Men, S.H.I.E.L.D., the Fantastic Four, and even Spider-Man turn against one another—twisting their thoughts and making them see each other as enemies.
---
Seeing the chaos unfold, Professor Charles Xavier reached out telepathically to Magneto.
"We need to work together to stop Sinister's telepathic attack. Only by combining our powers can we block his influence."
Magneto, sensing the urgency, responded,
"Agreed, Charles. Let's put our differences aside and end this madness."
The two old rivals vanished together, teleporting away to prepare a countermeasure against Sinister's mind control.
---
Back on the battlefield, the situation was getting worse. Under Sinister's control, the X-Men, S.H.I.E.L.D., the Fantastic Four, and Spider-Man were fighting each other, confused and manipulated.
Suddenly, a powerful engine roar echoed through the sewers.
Ben Tennyson arrived on his Interstellar Harley, glowing with cosmic energy. He was going forward towards the Universe 12041, but the situation here left him no time to rest.
At first, Ben didn't want to interfere. He had no interest in getting involved in a fight that wasn't his. But seeing innocent people in danger and heroes turned against each other—he knew he couldn't stand by.
"Who are you? What are you doing here?" Sinister demanded, his voice filled with arrogance.
Ben stepped off his bike, calm and confident.
"I'm Ben Tennyson. And I'm here to stop your destruction."
Tapping into his Anodite powers, Ben's body began to glow with vibrant energy. With a focused wave of power, he sent a shock of cleansing light across the battlefield.
In seconds, Sinister's telepathic control over everyone—the X-Men, S.H.I.E.L.D., the Fantastic Four, and Spider-Man—was shattered.
The heroes blinked, confused, slowly realizing what had happened. The fighting stopped.
"Then I will show you—no one can stop me!" Mr. Sinister growled, undeterred by Ben's boldness. He unleashed a powerful wave of telepathic attacks, trying to break into Ben's mind and take control.
But Ben, strengthened by his Anodite powers, stood firm. His mind was shielded by pure energy and unshakable focus.
"I've dealt with mind games before, Sinister," Ben said calmly, his eyes glowing with Anodite light. "Your tricks won't work on me."
Frustrated, Sinister changed tactics. He raised his hands and launched a powerful blast of energy using telekinesis, aiming to crush Ben with raw force.
Ben didn't flinch. He tapped into Chromastone's powers, transforming into his glowing crystal form. The energy slammed into him—but instead of harming him, it was absorbed. His body pulsed with bright, contained power.
"You're not the first to underestimate me," Ben said coolly, now radiating energy from every part of his crystalline body.
Sinister, caught off guard, took a step back, then clenched his fists and pushed harder.
He summoned glowing energy constructs, massive and sharp, surrounding Ben from all sides, ready to strike.
But Ben remained calm.
As the constructs launched forward in a synchronized attack, he subtly activated Energy Redirection, channeling all of Sinister's telekinetic energy into his own body.
The power flowed into him like a storm—but Ben held steady, absorbing and controlling it.
With a surge of brilliant light, he stood tall—untouched, unstoppable.
