Again one long chapter.
In the dimly lit sewers, Wolverine and Sabretooth clashed violently.
Wolverine found himself ensnared in an inexplicable green substance, struggling against its slimy grasp, while Sabretooth, seizing the opportunity, made a swift escape through the labyrinthine tunnels.
As the two mutants grappled below the city's surface, Trask and his soldiers descended into the sewers, responding to the commotion.
A soldier quickly reported to Trask that one of the mutants had escaped from the capture.
Trask ordered an abrupt halt to their pursuit, his eyes narrowing with a hint of frustration.

Meanwhile, back at the Institute, Jean focused intently on Cerebro, attempting to trace Wolverine's signal. She turned to Xavier and told him that she had lost Wolverine's signal.
Xavier's usually calm demeanor cracked, and he lashed out in frustration, expressing the increasing difficulty of locating Magneto.

In the labyrinth sewers, Beast and Storm navigated the dark passages. They have the traces of Wolverine and Magneto.

Simultaneously, at the Brotherhood house, Mystique appeared and informed the Brotherhood that Wolverine had been abducted by Magneto.
"Pietro, do you know anything about this?" She asked, looking towards Pietro.
Pietro, looking genuinely bewildered, responded, "No, I have no idea. I can't believe that Magneto has actually snatched Wolverine," he admitted, with a flicker of concern in his eyes.
Mystique, with a mix of frustration and determination, declared, "I don't know what he's up to, but he's forced me to make my move."
The following day at the Institute, Xavier, with a furrowed brow, assigned the responsibility of training both the X-Men and New Mutants to Ben. As they enter the immersive Danger Room, everyone has little caution.
Ben pitted the X-Kids against a simulated Magneto, and the young mutants found themselves struggling against the formidable opponent.
Each move seemed to be met with a calculated counter, and the X-Kids, uncertain and on edge, struggled to formulate a cohesive strategy.
Seeing that they are not able to cooperate, Ben yelled at Cyclops, "If you don't know what to do, hand over the command to Jean!"
Hearing it, Cyclops decided to take the initiative and rushed towards the simulated Magneto.
However, the plan backfired miserably, and one by one, each of the young mutants defeated.
Ben fumed with frustration as he witnessed the failure of their attempted strategy.
"Why are you attacking us?" Cyclops questioned, a mix of confusion and frustration evident in his voice.
The professor, observing the scenario, calmly responded, "He wants to see if you're ready to face Magneto."
"I think that we are ready," Cyclops asserted confidently. However, Xavier, with a scoff, dismissed the notion, citing their recent struggles against the Brotherhood as evidence of their unreadiness.
Beast returned from monitoring the simulation. He reported to Xavier, "The New Mutants were not ready."
Faced with this reality, Xavier with a heavy sigh, recognized the need to bolster the X-Men's ranks.

And the next day, he brought the Brotherhood, and informed the X-Men, "Please welcome your new teammates."
Seeing this, the X-Men voiced their discontent, questioning the necessity of teaming up with the Brotherhood.
But Ben quelled their protests through a series of rigorous exercises, determined to silence their questions with physical exertion.
As the dust settled, Cyclops, seething with anger, abruptly left the training session.
Jean, moved by concern, attempted to follow him, but Xavier intervened, and advised, "Let him go, Jean. Sometimes, they need to find their own answers."
Xavier then brings the X-Men and Brotherhood into the Danger Room. "Enough questions. It's time to train."
Turning to Jean, he added, "We need to get back to Cerebro to continue the search."
Meanwhile, in a military-like compound, Wolverine found himself captive.
Trask revealed that he had delved into the world of mutants while working with S.H.I.E.L.D.
He told Wolverine that he was going to do a sinister experiment with him.
At the institute, Jean is able to locate Wolverine using Cerebro. Xavier tells her to gather the teams.
As the teams are loading up into the jets, Mystique is shown in the mansion's control room. She sets the defense systems up to self-destruct and starts it out on Defcon 4.
In the jets, Storm and Xavier argue over whether or not to wait for Scott. They end up leaving without him.
As the jets fly off, the mansion goes into lockdown. The New Mutants try to escape, but only Amara is able to get out, the rest are trapped inside.
Outside the mansion's systems turn on Amara. Tabitha shows up and they get away in Lance's jeep.
They meet up with Scott and as they head back to the mansion, Boom Boom tells him about Mystique being back in charge of the Brotherhood.
Scott figures out that something isn't quite right about Mystique being back, the X-men and Brotherhood teaming up, and the mansion suddenly going crazy.

Meanwhile, Wolverine is put up against Trask's new weapon designed to destroy mutants, the Sentinel.
Wolverine has to go on the run as the Sentinel blasts away at him. He tries to slash the Sentinel's wiring, but it flings him away. It blasts him again and knocks him out.

Scott, Tabatha, and Amara make their way back into the mansion by the "back way" while the New Mutants are on the run inside from the mansion's defenses. The self-destruct sequence takes over and the countdown begins.

In the city, Magneto's travel sphere touches down in the center of some large warehouses. Gambit, Colossus, Pyro, Sabretooth and Magneto stepped out.

Meanwhile, the Sentinel picks up the unconscious Wolverine and prepares to fire.
But then Trask shuts it down, and the scientists rush inside.
Bolivar Trask tells them to run diagnostics on the Sentinel. He wants to know how well it stood up to the experiment.

The X-Men and The Brotherhood teams have split up into groups and are searching the area around the warehouses.
They find Magneto's travel spheres, but they're empty and there is no sign of Magneto's crew anywhere.
Gambit ambushes one of the teams by throwing one of his cards at them.
The second team sees the explosion from over the top of some of the buildings.
"Finally, some action," Avalanche shouted. Wanda realizes it's all a trap, but it's too late. Magneto begins ripping the place apart, and finally pulls apart one of the warehouses to reveal his new crew.
Gambit starts throwing cards everywhere, causing the teams to scatter.
Sabretooth jumps on Beast. Pyro chases after some of the X-Kids, but Ben stops him in mid-air using his Time Pause powers.
The Storm sends some rain on him and puts out all of his flames. Then she hits him with lightning. With Ben and Storm working together, they've taken down the Pyro.
Beast and Sabretooth fight and jump up onto some scaffolding and building frames. Magneto then wraps a girder around Beast and traps him.

Back in Trask's lab, the scientist can hear the X-Men, Brotherhood and Magneto fighting going on right above their heads. Trask tells them that he wants the Sentinel back online immediately.

Above ground, Rogue runs into Gambit. She acts stunned and stands there looking all sappy as he hands her a card and charges it. Ben quickly pauses time, Rogue throws the card, and then the explosion happens.
Colossus and Todd continue fighting; Colossus attempts to squash Todd by throwing various large objects at him
The Blob comes to his rescue, but as he charges Colossus, Colossus flings Todd away. The two collide, and the Blob is sent sailing into the side of a building.
Again, Ben paused the Colossus. Shadowcat saw the opportunity, so she grabbed Colossus and dragged him inside. Then Ben resumed his attack on Colossus, eventually knocking him out. He then went after the others.
Sabretooth is finally able to knock out Beast. As he's getting ready to drop a dumpster on him, Ben stops him, seeing the chance Rogue rushes in and absorbs Sabretooth's powers, knocking him down.
Meanwhile, Wanda continues to search for her father. She wanders off into the streets and the buildings around her start to shake and warp.
Storm follows her and sees that Wanda is heading towards Magneto, who's perched atop a building in the distance. Storm calls the teams together to go after Magneto.
Quicksilver informs Magneto that Wanda and the teams are after him. Magneto drops the ground out from under them, and they all end up right in the middle of Trask's compound.
Trask sends the Sentinel after them. Quicksilver informs Magneto that Trask has released the Sentinel. Magneto tells him that he knew about that. Magneto's crew (except for Magneto and Quicksilver) load back up into the travel spheres and take off.
Magneto tells Quicksilver that the whole world will now know about mutants. He uses his powers to lift the teams and the Sentinel back up to ground level again.
The Sentinels go after the teams and everyone scatters. A news traffic helicopter happens upon the scene and witnesses the fight.
Storm tries to take out the Sentinel with lightning, but the Sentinel just keeps coming. The news chopper goes to live feed. Storm is hit by the sentinel and goes down.
Spyke steps up to attack the Sentinel and protect Storm. The rest of the team lifts a car and throws it; Jean Grey uses her telekinesis to amplify the force of the throw and slams it into the Sentinel.
But still, more Sentinels come and start hitting them. Lance crumbles to the ground beneath them, all the while the news chopper is broadcasting.
Duncan Matthews, Taryn Fujioka, Amanda Sefton, Principal Kelly, and others all see the X-Men on the television fighting the Sentinel.
The police finally arrive at the scene. Blob and Spyke are both captured by the Sentinel. It shoots a green gel-like substance on them that solidifies and freezes them in stasis.
The Sentinel activates its thrusters and is able to fly free of the gale. It slams into the ground and almost crushes Rogue and Shadowcat. It hits them both with the stasis goo.
The Beast is the next to be captured, and the Sentinels are hot on the trail of Nightcrawler and Todd, but they manage to escape.
The Marines arrive by helicopter, but Magneto uses his powers to hold them back and keep them away from joining the fight. A sentinel locks onto him on the rooftop above.
Wanda surprises Quicksilver and knocks him out. Then she goes after Magneto and uses her powers to block his powers.
The Sentinel comes after Magneto and he begs Wanda to release him. Charles Xavier shows up in the X-Jet and attacks the Sentinel, but Wanda hexes the Jet and sends it flying.
The Mariners fire two missiles at Magneto. The missiles hit and the building explodes. The building comes crashing down right on top of Magneto and many X-Men.
Ben had come onto the scene; he had destroyed many Sentinels, but still couldn't save everyone. Seeing them all knocked out, he used his first time the power of Time Reverse.
Doing so before any Sentinels attacked, he stopped them in midair using his Time Pause. "What are you seeing, attack them?" Ben shouted, as everyone began destroying the Sentinels. Once all the Sentinels were destroyed, Ben released Time Pause, but another missile struck a nearby building, and Ben collapsed from exhaustion from using Time Reverse and Time Pause.
Wanda is thrown from the roof, but Nightcrawler catches her in time, and teleports her to safety.
The survivors regrouped, and Xavier picks them up in the X-Jet. The kids want to save the others and Ben, but Xavier tells them they'll have to come back for them.
They flew home, but when they arrived, they saw that the Institute had been completely destroyed. They landed and Jean started calling out for Scott and the New Mutants. Everyone was in complete shock.
Scott and the New Mutants emerge from the surrounding woods looking the worse for wear. Sam tells them that they were able to make it into Cerebro and that it was just barely able to sustain the blast.
Scott jumps on Xavier and yells at him, blaming him for everything. He grabs Xavier by the collar and drags him to the floor. Nightcrawler and Bobby pull Scott off.
Xavier stands up and morphs into Mystique. She says that she is responsible for everything and things are about to get much worse.
