Everything was going well as both Itsuki and Saya were able to enter college and Saya succeded in being in the same class as Itsuki, which she did help out a bit as she pulled some strings to make the process smoother.
The class Itsuki was in was for the best of the best, Saya barely qualified so with her help her little sister got in fine.
As she had expected Itsuki became very popular but since he only had eyes for Saya it was okay, Saya too being a beautiful young woman had a lot of admirers but she too stuck to Itsuki making those young men seeth with jealousy and anger.
She never expected that when she and her sister went on a short vacation to the other side of the country for her friend's wedding, It would result in Itsuki getting kicked out of the college.
She was exasperated and a little annoyed, she didn't blame Itsuki but she was angry at her parents as she found out what happened and it didn't please her at all.
Her parents still hadn't given up, they did everything they could to get him kicked out. But Kana still called her parents to give them a piece of her mind.
They went a bit too far this time, she also was a bit helpless because if Itsuki had only called her to ask for help she could have done something, but he most likely didn't want to trouble her too much.
In the end, she gave up, she let Saya accompany him as no matter how much he tried to act indifferently he must be sad deep down.
She was also sad as she genuinely cared about Itsuki and what happened made her guilty as it was related to her parents.
....
Kana noticed that there seemed to subtle shift in the relationship between her sister and Itsuki as they seemed to be conscious of each other more.
Kana felt that something must have happened between the two of them and this thought made her feel giddy inside.
Honestly, she found it cute and she gave the two younglings the space as she definitely didn't want to see anything unnecessary.
It was a good thing that Saya was spending more time at Itsuki's next door, maybe both of them would confirm their relationship and start dating.
She hoped they would take it slow, and they did not need to rush as they had all the time in the world.
At least that's how it was supposed to go..... until tragedy struck.
He was gone and would no longer be with them.....
...
This event broke Saya to the point Kana worried for her sister's health but things became even more complicated when her sister became pregnant.
Kana felt complicated, she felt both happy and a bit worried. She believed this child should be able to at least get Saya out of her depression.
Since it was Itsuki's child Saya would have a reason to continue living as understood how much Itsuki meant to her little sister.
She was also worried about her parents she knew she couldn't hide the matter for too long, and she wondered whether she should tell them.
In the end, Saya told her to contact them and tell them about this matter.
As Kana expected her parents weren't happy, but she hoped for their daughter's sake they would at least be able to provide her some support during this difficult time.
Saya was in a very vulnerable state of mind and her mood was at an all-time low along with rapid mood swings, Kana was very careful with Saya.
This was a time when she should be treated with utmost care and spoiled, she expected her parents to be pillars for Saya as no matter what differences or arguments they had, at the end of the day this was their youngest daughter who was in a very fragile state of mind who needed their support now.
This was a time when she needed the support of friends and family to get through it, but maybe she gave her family a bit too much faith.....
....
Kana held Saya in her embrace as she rubbed her back soothingly while ignoring her parents who were standing there with a cold face.
Kana's gaze became frigid as she understood how callous and uncaring her parents were.
The last hope and expectation she had for them died the moment they disregarded Saya's current situation.
She knew deep down but she could never accept it, but now she understood what mattered most to her parents.
In the end, their daughter didn't hold much value in the grand scheme of things, if they were able to raise the status of their family and acquire more wealth then it didn't matter if they sacrificed their children's happiness.
It was like a huge weight was lifted off her shoulders, she could finally let go of her obsession for a happy family.
Because she understood these people never cared about her from the beginning, maybe they did sometime but now all they cared about was satisfying their greed.
Kana's cold gaze was fixed on her parents who seemed a bit surprised by her sudden change in behaviour.
Her father wanted to say something but before he could Kana gave the eviction order.
" Get out, or I'll call security because you are disturbing the patient's rest. Don't come back... ever. We don't have anything to do with you two. My only family is my sister " Kana said calmly while gazing at her parents who seemed to be stunned but quickly it morphed into anger....
