Ni Yang reached out and patted Dapang's head. "Dapang, why are you alone? Where's your brother?"
Ni Cuihua replied with a smile, "Yangyang, didn't you see Duoduo on the tree branch at the entrance of the village when you arrived? These days, it has been calling for you several times every day, waiting on the branch for you morning and evening."
"No, I haven't," Ni Yang shook her head.
Not seen?
That was a bit odd.
Ni Cuihua frowned slightly, "Could it be that you didn't notice?"
Ni Yang said, "Even if I didn't notice, Duoduo should have seen me."
Now, Ni Cuihua felt something was off, "It seems I haven't seen Duoduo since last night," and with that, she called into the house, "Mom, did you see Duoduo last night?"
Old Lady Shangguan came out of the room and after thinking said, "I didn't see it. I remember when I locked the door last night, the bird's nest was still empty."
The weather was still a bit chilly, so Ni Yang had built a warm little nest for Duoduo indoors.
