King Wu was truly in despair. In order to counter Jiang Chen, he had allied with every force he could, raising his own power continually.
He had thought that through these efforts, he could narrow the gap between himself and Jiang Chen. But the reality was that the gap only widened. Initially, he could still see Jiang Chen's shadow ahead, but now, he couldn't see anything at all.
King Wu's rise in power was swift, but Jiang Chen's was even faster. More crucially, Jiang Chen relied solely on himself to grow, while King Wu depended entirely on external help.
