Hearing Emily Collins' envious words, Amelia Clarke couldn't help but want to laugh.
"Grandma, you and grandpa, grandma and grandpa, Owen's grandma and grandpa, you all are treasures, don't you kids agree?"
Amelia Clarke's voice, the tone of which was used to coax children, made the three elderly laugh heartily.
The older people get, the more they resemble children, needing to be pampered and coaxed by family members.
"Dorothy, go and serve Amelia and Owen a bowl of the hot Bone Soup from the pot," Madam Moreland told Auntie Brown.
"You have Bone Soup? Thank you, grandma, you are so kind, and I was just feeling a bit thirsty," Amelia Clarke, clinging to Madam Moreland's arm, said coquettishly.
"The bones for the soup were bought by Bella," Emily Collins became discontented again, always annoyed when Madam Moreland took all the credit.
