Those who haven't experienced it firsthand won't understand what this means. Only by personally fighting against the "Legion" and witnessing the merciless slaughter between drones devoid of humanity or honor can one understand the meaning and weight behind these words.
It's said the sole purpose of war is victory, and killing is the only means. Yet, at the forefront of battle are flesh and blood, living people. Severed limbs will not regenerate; a bullet hitting a vital part results in death. People get injured, bleed, scream, and rage. They sacrifice themselves for comrades, country, and family or betray others for survival. Whatever their reasons for fighting, whatever their actions on the battlefield, be it beautiful or ugly, that's the truest color of the battlefield.
