The next day, when Silas saw Jiwon at school, he dragged him into a toilet cabinet and locked the door. Jiwon, not sure what was happening, just stood there looking at his best friend.
Jiwon had grown very, very silent since he was bitten. He was bitten by a lone wolf, one who didn't want a pack, but still loved to spoil others' lives.
"What's the matter, Silas?" he asked, locking his eyes with his best friend's. Silas, not sure how to tell him, looked back for a couple of seconds. When he saw the other's eyebrows meet, he couldn't hold it anymore.
There he couldn't find the right words to say it, he simply went in his 'wolf-state'.
His eyes would say what his words couldn't.
Jiwon stared at his best friend's eyes for a solid minute, until he broke eye contact.
"You're eyes, Silas. They're...they're red...why are they red...you did not...Silas, please tell me you didn't...YOU DIDN'T KILL YOUR ALPHA, RIGHT, DID YOU?!" His best friend was panic-struck. Silas felt bad for him, but also as if he was about to burst out in laughter at the same time.
"Don't worry, Ji, I didn't kill anyone. I did fight the alpha thou-"
"YOU DID WHAT," Jiwon went from a stage of panic to shock in less than three seconds.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU FOUGHT YOUR ALPHA?! DID YOU LOSE YOUR MIND FELIX? HOW CAN YOU CHALLENGE YOUR ALPHA AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, WHY?"
Silas rapidly tried to control his wolf state and answered. "If a matter of fact, Jiwon, I didn't challenge him but he challenged me after I continued to disobey him and insist that he'd take you into the pack.
Long story short, when I lost and left the pack, Olivia and Dante followed shortly after. Once they wanted me as their alpha, well, I became their alpha. Now I kinda have a pack of my own and...I'd love for you to join the pack, Ji. It is safer to have a pack for us wolves and I'd rather you be in the same pack as me." Silas said feeling a bit...weird, awkward?
He knew he asked his friend to join the pack because it was better for his safety and he wanted to be close to him, he didn't want someone else to be his alpha, since he didn't know one good alpha. But how would his friend interpret it?
Everyone knows that the more wolves an alpha has, the stronger he gets. Maybe Jiwon would think that Silas just wants to become stronger.
While Silas was contemplating his actions, Jiwon put his arms around his neck."Thanks, Silas. I know it must have been hard for you and...and I am sorry for putting you through all this."
He broke the embrace and looked at his best friend. "and you know what? Those red eyes really do suit you." He said laughingly and continued shortly after with,
"Silas, Of course, I want to join your pack. But now I really have to go to class, mate. Sorry. See you later!!"
Silas felt his eyes flicker. He had a new pack member. And he'd do anything he could to keep all of them safe and make them as strong as possible.
