Mrs. Herd's voice grew fainter and fainter, and the last three words were almost inaudible.
Miles Martin's smile widened on his face, "Meina... I'm really happy today."
"Why are you here so late? Don't you have anything tomorrow?" When Mrs. Herd realized that Miles Martin had come, her heartbeat thudded loudly, almost leaping out of her chest. The moment she saw him, her nose felt sour, she wasn't sure if it was from the cold or from being moved.
She didn't expect that Miles Martin would come all this way, after finishing his work.
She felt like a teenage girl, utterly moved.
Miles Martin pecked her burning cheeks: "If I didn't come, I was worried someone would be upset."
"Who would get upset, am I that petty? I'm easy to appease, a phone call is all it takes." Mrs. Herd blurted out in her anxiety, regretting it as soon as she finished, her face blushed even hotter.
