The morning sun was just beginning to rise, casting long slanted beams of gold across the rooftops of Twilight City, when Rama spoke.
"So it's decided," he said, turning toward the others. "We'll head to the old cemetery next."
He looked to Shoji and Axel for agreement, and without hesitation both nodded.
"I'm in," Axel said. "It's the closest and relatively speaking the safest place to start digging. The others are either too far, too dangerous, or just plain inaccessible for now."
He grimaced as he spoke, already imagining the frost of the northern region. "At least we're putting off that frozen hell for now."
Shoji shrugged, his expression as neutral as ever. "Sounds good to me. Cold, desert, jungle doesn't matter. We'll be in danger no matter where we go. Might as well start somewhere convenient."
Rama gave a faint smile at their responses.
"Good," he said. "We'll need a car first for that."
