Germain first recounted the entire "Meteor City Extermination of Gyro's Forces" incident, including how they had formed an alliance with Meteor City.
"There are still 'Gyro's demons' roaming inside Meteor City. The residents and professional Hunters are working together to hunt them down."
"Sheila will stay in Meteor City as our intermediary. We support their reconstruction, and in return, they will repay us in the future. It's that simple."
Razor stroked his chin with a sly smile.
"The Gyro from NGL, huh... Actually, I noticed something strange about my subordinate, 'Werewolf' Welfin."
"When he heard that Gyro had been killed by you, he showed sadness—something I had never seen from him before."
"Welfin has always been paranoid and antisocial. But now, he's grieving like a human, drinking himself into oblivion with the rest of the pirate crew."
"I think, back when he was still human, he must have been one of Gyro's subordinates. Now that Gyro is dead, he's lost the last connection to his human past."
Abengane, with his tanned skin, coughed lightly and joined the conversation.
"Now that you mention it, 'Bunny Girl' Hina also showed interest in Gyro. But after hearing that Germain and Shizuku were going to eliminate him, she never brought him up again."
"Maybe she knew there was no way Gyro could survive against Germain and Shizuku. So instead, she focused on what she enjoys more—messing with those players."
Sitting upright with his hands neatly placed on the table, List chimed in as well.
"Compared to them, Ikalgo and Meleoron barely paid any attention to Gyro."
"They integrated into 'Greed Island' much faster than the other Chimera Ants, without being tied down by the past."
Everyone nodded in agreement. They had all interacted with Ikalgo and Meleoron and knew that both had already started new lives on Greed Island.
Palm, who had been forcibly turned into a Chimera Ant, had a strong opinion on the matter.
"A human soul in a Chimera Ant's body... Because of this contradiction, we are destined to waver between both worlds."
She raised her scaly hand and gently touched the unnaturally large, spherical protrusion on her forehead.
"But true emotional bonds take time to build. I believe that whether it's them or me, we'll eventually fully integrate into Greed Island."
Hearing Palm's words, Morel, Knov, Knuckle, and Shoot couldn't help but show expressions of guilt, especially her mentor, Knov.
When it came to recognizing herself as either human or Chimera Ant, Palm shouldn't have had to struggle with such a painful choice—if only they had stopped her from carrying out that dangerous plan back then.
It was hard to say whether Palm chose to come to Greed Island to escape them and start over.
But what was done was done. No amount of regret could change it now. The only option was to go with the flow.
Not wanting the atmosphere at the long table to sink further into gloom, Germain took the initiative to talk about his visit to the Zoldyck family.
However, he kept his meeting and conversation with Zigg Zoldyck a secret.
This was at Zigg's request—he didn't want Alluka to attract attention too soon. Besides, they weren't planning to challenge the "Gaseous Lifeform: Ai" just yet.
When the group heard that Ging's son, Gon, had been placed under Wing's guidance at Heaven's Arena alongside Kurapika and Killua, many of those present became visibly excited.
Dwun stroked his chin, his rough stubble scratching against his fingers, before bursting into a hearty laugh.
"He healed his hand in ten days and trained another ten to push open the 'Testing Gate.' Looks like Ging's kid has got some real talent."
"We should allocate some funds and manpower to assist Wing. Also, it's time to start preparing for Gon and the others' arrival on Greed Island."
"If my guess is right, they'll get here within six months to a year and attempt to clear the game in search of clues about Ging. I'm really looking forward to it."
As he said "looking forward to it," Dwun had a sinister grin, the kind a creepy uncle might wear when scheming against his nephews.
Then, Germain finally brought up his "Hunter Badge: Silver-White Triangle" ability.
This meant they could return to the Dark Continent earlier than expected.
It was an unexpected surprise, and everyone immediately launched into an enthusiastic discussion.
"The materials and equipment have long been prepared," Dwun said. "Now, what we really need to discuss is the selection of the expedition team."
"First, Germain and Shizuku are definitely going. That leaves only two spots."
Morel, whose hairline was in a dangerous state, had been listening to the conversation while wiping his sunglasses with a handkerchief. At this moment, he put them back on.
"I'll go. I owe Germain a huge favor. This is the perfect chance to repay it."
He pushed his sunglasses down slightly, his sharp eyes narrowing beneath his hooked nose.
"But let me make this clear—I will return to the Six Continents sooner or later."
"I'm an 'Sea Hunter.' My real battlefield is the sea, not the land."
"Chairman Netero is obviously working in secret to restart the 'Dark Continent Expedition.' Once it's successful, they'll need people."
"The Hunter Association has to send a team from the Six Continents, cross the 'Boundary Line,' sail through those dangerous and unpredictable waters, and reach the 'Dark Continent.'"
"In those waters, I'll be much more useful. Of course, that's assuming I make it back safely."
Knov glanced at Morel.
He didn't say a word. Instead, he pulled down his hat to cover his bald head.
Thanks to psychological therapy from Saccho, one of the Zodiacs, Knov had mostly recovered from his fear of the Chimera Ant King and the Royal Guards.
But his nature hadn't changed.
He was still the type with powerful Nen abilities—but at a steep cost.
That cost was his fragile mental state. He accumulated stress faster than most people.
Once his mental defenses were breached, he would completely break down in despair.
Originally, Knov's '4th-Dimensional Apartment' would have been an incredible asset in the Dark Continent. But his personality made him unsuited for extreme pressure.
Next, both Knuckle and Shoot volunteered to go.
They had been going through the records in the Dark Continent Archives for a while.
Shoot still had some concerns, while Knuckle was already eager to take action.
In the end, the team members chosen were Germain, Shizuku, Morel, and Knuckle.
