Ging ignored Bisky's sharp glare and calmly explained his reasoning.
"From these vague descriptions, it's easy to determine that 'Gaseous Lifeform - Ai,' 'Twin-Tailed Snake - Hellbell,' and 'Human-Keeping Beast - Pap' all involve 'mental influence.'"
"'Desire dependency,' 'transmissible killing intent,' and 'the equivalent exchange of joy and life'—these all indicate dangerous abilities."
"However, 'Human-Keeping Beast - Pap' seems to have a strong sense of 'territory.' It only attacks those who step into its domain."
"'Gaseous Lifeform - Ai' has no clear description, which likely means its appearance timing and location are unpredictable."
"'Twin-Tailed Snake - Hellbell' is described as preying on 99% of people before they even reach the swamp."
"This suggests that 'Twin-Tailed Snake - Hellbell' has a wide activity range, covering most of the paths leading to the swamp."
"Comparatively, 'Human-Keeping Beast - Pap' is less of a threat. The key is figuring out how to identify its territory."
"I chose 'Human-Keeping Beast - Pap' because at least there's a possible way to deal with it. The others are still a complete mystery."
Bisky narrowed her eyes, gritting her silver teeth, making a clicking sound.
"Tch... That's basically the same conclusion I reached..."
Then, they turned their attention to the remaining two who hadn't spoken yet—Germain and Shizuku.
Shizuku immediately looked at Germain. Ging and Bisky weren't surprised by her reaction at all.
Germain thought for a moment and answered, "I also choose 'Human-Keeping Beast – Pap'."
"What the heck?" Bisky pouted, "So in the end, we're all on the same page? Why did we even bother having this discussion if there's no disagreement?"
"I wanted to see you argue until your faces turned red, with blood on your heads! Now, I guess we can skip the final vote?"
"Sorry to disappoint you," Germain replied, then continued, "My reason isn't 'disaster,' but 'hope.'"
Everyone raised an eyebrow, looking at Germain, waiting for him to explain further.
"To be honest, out of the remaining 'three types of disasters,' I could accept any of them because they're all probably going to be troublesome."
"What makes me lean towards one, though, is the 'hope' that comes with them."
"'Gaseous Lifeform – Ai and the Trinity Elixir.'"
"'The Twin-Tailed Snake – Hellbell and Longevity Food – Nitro Rice.'"
"'Human-Keeping Beast – Pap and the Unmanned Rock.'"
"You all know this, but Chairman Netero is in the light while we're in the dark, both trying to push humanity back to the 'Dark Continent' to obtain the necessary resources for explosive growth."
"From that perspective, what 'hope' do we need the most right now?"
"'Longevity Food – Nitro Rice'? It doesn't offer much help for us right now."
At this point, Germain suddenly shot a glance at Bisky, paused for a moment, and then continued.
"Our bodies haven't started to age yet…"
"Hey!" Bisky finally jumped up, wanting to rush at Germain, but was held back by Shizuku who was next to her, "Don't think I didn't see that look you just gave me!"
"Why, whenever you mention 'longevity' or 'not aging yet,' do you have to look at me first? Are you implying that I'm old?"
"Our bodies haven't started aging yet... For now, we don't need the 'Longevity Food: Nitro Rice," Germain continued.
"How could you ignore me and keep talking?!" Bisky exclaimed, her eyes wide in shock. If it weren't for Shizuku holding her back, she would have rushed over by now.
"As for the 'Trinity Elixir' and the 'Unmanned Rock', it's indeed a difficult decision."
"The 'Trinity Elixir', which is said to be the 'base for all liquid forms', is even more fantastical than the 'Herb for All-illnesses' or the 'Alchemy Plant: Metallion'."
"A small piece of the 'Unmanned Rock', when submerged in water, 'can generate around 20,000 kilowatts of electricity in just one day'. That, too, is a miracle."
"If I had to make a choice, I would ultimately go with the 'Unmanned Rock'."
"For the future, we will have two intertwined paths: one bright, one dark."
"The 'dark line' will be a small group exploration based on the 'Teleport Lantern,' establishing bases and gradually spreading outward."
"The 'bright line,' however, will involve a large force, following a path from 'Greed Island,' 'Unknown Midpoint,' and the 'Dark Continent'—something like migration, colonization, occupying land, and plundering resources."
"The 'Unmanned Rock,' which holds an unlimited amount of electrical power that has yet to be fully explored, would be more useful in supporting both the 'bright and dark lines.'"
"Because it explicitly mentions its usage method: 'Submerge it in water,' and it will generate power. Simple and straightforward."
"The 'Trinity Elixir,' on the other hand, might offer a variety of options such as water, gasoline, diesel, alcohol, juice, and more."
"However, it's precisely because of its variety and the incomplete descriptions that it likely means further research is needed to properly formulate the corresponding liquid."
"The name 'Trinity Elixir' is probably derived from the concept of the 'Three Primary Colors,' which are the three basic colors in the color spectrum. Using them, you can mix and create most other colors."
"It's likely that 'Trinity Elixir' shares similar properties. Even a tiny change could cause it to lose stability and fail to form the required resource."
"The 'Trinity Elixir' has too many conditions to be met, so it seems the 'Unmanned Rock' is easier to use. The 'Trinity Elixir' can be set aside for now."
Actually, the reason why Germain didn't choose "Trinity Elixir" is related to "Accompanying Disasters." It's not unrelated at all.
Germain remembers there being many hints suggesting that the fourth son of the Zoldyck family, Alluka, has many issues.
The entity sharing his body, Nanika, clearly comes from the "Dark Continent," and it's very likely connected to the "Gaseous Lifeform, Ai."
It's possible that Nanika is the "Gaseous Lifeform, Ai" itself.
If this assumption is correct, then the known abilities of the "Gaseous Lifeform, Ai" would involve the troublesome "Wishes and Costs."
Nanika grants others' "wishes," but the "clingy cost" afterward becomes correspondingly harsh.
Moreover, the way the "wish" is granted seems to still follow certain rules of reality, so unexpected situations often arise.
For example, if the wish is to become a billionaire.
Then a flying ship carrying money would have an accident and drop the money from the sky, instead of transferring it directly to you.
Achieving a "wish" this way may not be a good thing. The so-called "billionaire" might not last long before the truth is discovered, leading to a complete end.
The "clingy cost" that follows is also troublesome.
Germain doesn't want to encounter the "Gaseous Lifeform, Ai" for now. He wants to first interact with Alluka and Nanika, understand the situation, and then make a judgment.
However, this part of the reasoning can't be shared with the three people present.
Ging and Bisky understand Germain's point, then turn their gaze to the last person.
The last person—Shizuku raised her hand without hesitation and said, "I also choose 'Human-Keeping Beast Pap and the Unmanned Rock.'"
As expected, there were no surprises.
Ging spread his palms and then asked, "Although it might not be necessary anymore, let's still follow the original procedure and have the final vote."
"Is there anyone who wants to change their opinion from earlier? Please speak up now."
There was silence at the top of the tower for a moment. You look at me, and I look at you. No one spoke.
"Alright then," Ging shrugged. "So it's unanimous, we all agree, our goal is 'Human-Keeping Beast Pap and the Unmanned Rock.'"
"Actually, this is a good thing... Now that the goal is set, we need to determine each of our responsibilities."
"Germain and Shizuku will return to 'Greed Island' to gather and add the resources, equipment, and members we need."
"As for the rest of us, we will continue to build our relationship with the Moose Centaur Tribe. After constructing the ancient labyrinth castle, we will try to make contact with more 'Subhumans.'"
