Norris Moore paused gently.
When the man embraced him, Norris only felt his body was cold, devoid of any warmth.
He held her gingerly and with careful tenderness, as if cradling some delicate and fragile jewel.
Norris couldn't see his face, but she could feel the emotions radiating from his body.
At that moment, he seemed somewhat shattered.
He held her so cautiously, as though trying to draw a bit of strength from her to keep going.
The man was tall and imposing, but when he bent down to hold her, he seemed frail and pitiable.
She did not reject his embrace and stood there, letting him hold her for a long time.
After a while, she heard the man take a light breath, release her, and lift his head.
She instinctively looked up at him.
His eyes were so deep that they seemed to draw one's soul into them, yet the expression with which he looked at her, for some reason, made her feel a touch of sadness.
"Did we used to be… very close?"
She asked subconsciously.
