A long silence, a long period of quiet…
Lorne Noah Jackson suddenly closed his book and turned his head to glance at Emily Simpson standing nearby, silently holding a pile of things.
"What are these?" His line of sight finally rested on the stack of gifts she held in her arms.
Were these the things she had come to give, her gifts to him?
"These… are from our classmates, and… from students in other classes, who asked me to pass them on to you!" Emily quietly approached the corner of the desk, placed the things on top of his desk, and then softly said.
After her words fell, a barely noticeable change appeared on Lorne's face…
"Throw them away!" He averted his gaze and replied mercilessly.
She was really enthusiastic to be delivering gifts from other girls to him.
"Throw them away?" Emily was startled. He didn't even glance at them and just asked her to throw them away.
How would she explain this tomorrow…
"Don't bother giving me these things anymore," Lorne said heartlessly.
