Flat-Brim Samurai Chapter 89 - Something Below Us Breathes
A large army was strewn across a field, a man stood at the top of a cliff looking down on his men. He wore a worn out military suit, his face was covered in scars ,"Soon, we go, and get our revenge!!!" His scream had sent all of the monsters and beasts into screaming, by raising their hands and heads up high. The sky was filled with mythical stars and planets, colors arrayed like watercolor. A different dimension entirely from the universe Apollo knew. ,"The time for our traversal back to my world is near, so be prepared." The mysterious man then looked up into the sky, as if to look at the universe he used to call home ,"None of you will be left standing after what you did to me."
Apollo got into the ship with Reese, Reese was driving. ,"Ready for the zip?" ,"You know it," ,"Alright," Reese said, activating the zip and driving the ship towards the destination. The fabric of space and time distorted and they got to their location immediately. It was a large planet, almost 23x that of Earth. Reese got out of the ship ,"Let's leave it out of orbit," Apollo stepped out as well. They flew to the planet surface. ,"I wonder where that anomaly is?" ,"Yeah, we'll find it." ,"Can't believe we found a mammoth level entity just around here, something capable of completely destroy planets. You sure we can take em on?" ,"Yeah, don't worry, only people pre-cosmic or above can even join the interplanetary military, that means you have the ability to destroy stars." ,"Really?" ,"Yeah, we all have a hard time realizing the power we have, especially when we've lived on the ground for such a long time, you've entered the realm of insanity."
They walked around the planet finding nothing, the ground was soft but has a weird course texture. Reese sensed something was wrong ,"Stay on guard," ,"What?" GRAAAA. The planet opened a mouth and Apollo almost fell in before floating upwards. He flew way up into the air and looked down at the changing ground. Apollo looked at Reese, brandishing the axe that he had on his back. He raised it up high into the air and swung down with an immense force BAMMMMMM RAAAAHHHHHH. The giant monster screamed out, but due to its size it was still alive. ,"HEY APOLLO, YOU WANT TO HANDLE THIS. THIS WOULD BE A GREAT EXPERIENCE FOR YOU, YOU NEED TO TRULY UNDERSTAND YOUR POWER!!!"
Apollo smiled ,"SURE I'LL TAKE THIS THING DOWN." He summoned his Akarui soul katana and unsheathed the blade SHHHHING. Reese flew way up above the monster ,"This is a megalith, a creature that generally grows to immense sizes, consuming celestial objects as it ages, this one's still on the small size though." Apollo raised his eyebrows ,"It's a baby, you're saying?" ,"More or less, enough with the talk, just kill the damn thing." Apollo nodded and faced the creature who extended it's tentacles and revealed the grotesque shape of the flesh and eyeballs on its body.
Apollo breathed out and swung his sword, releasing a water wave STIK. It went through it but didn't really do any massive damage, just a scratch because the height of the move was not great ,"You have to learn how to stretch your power outwards instead of condensing it to such an insane level, ki doesn't work like blunt force after all, remember you don't need a bullet, you need a nuke." Apollo nodded, putting energy on the edge of his blade, he raised it, and then struck down SWOOOOSHHHH SLIIIICCCEE AAGAHGHHHGHHGHHH BWOOOOOOSH. The great beast was cut in half by an immense force that caused it to bleed extensively.
The beast tried to reconnect it's lost body parts but wasn't able to because of the foreign ki infecting the wound, another lesson that Apollo learned. ,"It seems to still be alive, you should finish it off," Reese said. Apollo nodded again and swung sporadically, slicing the monster into many different pieces. If the thing wasn't dead before, it was definitely dead now. ,"Now you've finally got a handle on that power of yours, good job. There's one thing I have to say though, imbuing your power and expanding it into its cells would be a lot easier, and explosions are awesome, 2 birds with one stone." Apollo laughed, Reese continued,"Now let's get back, I'm starving." Apollo snapped a picture of the megalith and hopped into the ship. They zipped back and walked up to the front desk ,"Ooh very nice, is this your first encounter with a megalith?" The receptionist Glinda asked ,"Yes ma'am," ,"Well isn't that wonderful, It looks like you had a good time dispatching it," She said with a smile on her face. Apollo smiled back and said ,"Thank you."
