Rose PoV
Saffron held Anis with one arm and put a hand on my back. "Relax. We can handle her if she is here."
I smiled and nodded. Yeah, I'd grown this we last faced her. But, was it enough. I wasn't sure if I could summon Amaryllis again anytime soon.
Saffron walked over to the door interior and walked inside.
I followed closely after him.
As we stepped inside of the ghostly ship, a tension hung in the air. The eerie silence was only broken by the creaking of the vessel and the distant lapping of water against its hull.
"Is going inside a good idea?" Mariah asked as she looked behind us at the door. She had covered the entrance with rods of water, as if fearful it could close at any moment.
Saffron held Anis close to his chest and sighed. "Camio is likely deeper inside. We need to know what he is plotting."
Anis's tiny hand clung to her pa's shirt. She let out a frightened coo.
I reached out to gently stroke her back, offering what comfort I could to my baby.
