I sat at my desk, the soft rustle of papers the only sound in the quiet room. The morning light poured through the window, casting a warm glow over the stacks of documents that seemed to multiply every time I looked away. With Orlin still away in his brother-in-law's village, the additional workload had fallen to me. I didn't mind taking on his duties; knowing he was there to keep an eye on Rosemary and little Anis was a comfort. Especially after he briefed me that she got attacked yet again, this time by Cyra's father.
I always found Cyra's family history to be strange. Yet, Itou reassured me that her parents were indeed nobles. But now I knew her father came from a different universe all together, a load of questions arose. It meant that a little demon girl either tricked the prime minister, or he helped hide her true identity. But why would he do so? What did he have to gain from granting Cyra a false title?
