Chapter 23 - Chapter 423: Make money!

Listening to Guo Xuerong's suggestion, Fang Yan pondered for a moment and then slowly nodded.

"If that's the case, I'll agree, but remember, as I mentioned before, you can't discuss the artificial intelligence with anyone."

This was a concern for Fang Yan. His own strength was not yet formidable, and if information about Jarvis were to leak out, it could have serious consequences.

Guo Xuerong initially wanted the authorization primarily for showing off to her friends. However, upon hearing Fang Yan's condition, her expression turned embarrassed. She fidgeted with her hands behind her back, unsure of how to respond.

At that moment, Guo Yurong discreetly approached and whispered a few words in her ear,

"Sister, it's better to agree for now. After all, he won't be by your side 24/7."

"If you change your mind later, you can always modify the settings."

"What do you think?"

Hearing Guo Yurong's advice, Guo Xuerong's mind started working.

She's right. I can agree for now and then decide later.

With her decision made, Guo Xuerong firmly agreed to Fang Yan,

"Alright, I promise not to tell anyone."

As she watched her sister and Guo Yurong having a hushed conversation, Fang Yan couldn't help but pout. He knew these two wouldn't be able to keep it quiet.

Well, as long as they don't spread the word immediately, I suppose that's good enough for now.

"Alright, Jarvis, you've heard their requests. Do you understand what you need to do?"

"Of course, sir."

Jarvis responded.

A short while later.

"All home authorizations have been activated!"

"Madam, if you need anything in the future, please don't hesitate to ask. It's my honor."

Jarvis' words filled Guo Xuerong with excitement, a bright smile gracing her face.

"Okay, I've enabled the artificial intelligence authorization for you. Are you satisfied now? And remember what you promised earlier—don't discuss this with anyone."

As Fang Yan reminded them once again, both Guo Xuerong and Guo Yurong wore slightly embarrassed expressions.

"Yeah, yeah, we got it. Don't worry."

Guo Xuerong assured Fang Yan, her conscience pricked by his reminder.

"Fang Yan, can Jarvis hear our commands in your room?"

Suddenly, Guo Yurong raised an important question. With Fang Yan agreeing to the authorization, once he left, she wouldn't be able to utilize it anymore. It would be a waste of an opportunity.

"Absolutely!"

"Don't worry, Jarvis is the most advanced artificial intelligence in the world. When you give a command to any smart appliance in your home, Jarvis can receive the command and execute your instructions. But remember, it's limited to controlling household functions. Other capabilities are excluded."

Fang Yan emphasized this point specifically.

"Okay! We'll go for now. We might come by later when we have some free time."

With that, Guo Yurong felt reassured and headed out hastily, clearly eager to experience the wonders of the artificial intelligence.

Watching Guo Yurong leave, Guo Xuerong also felt a sense of helplessness. She felt the need to explain on her sister's behalf,

"My sister is a bit impatient. I hope you don't mind."

Fang Yan waved her off, signaling that he understood and wasn't bothered by it.

"If that's the case, we'll be heading out. We might visit you again later."

With a parting wave, Guo Xuerong left along with Qingqing.

As they reached the door, Qingqing suddenly turned around and sweetly addressed Fang Yan,

"Big brother, Qingqing is leaving now, but Qingqing will come back to play with you in a few days."

"Is it just to play with Jarvis? You little trickster."

Fang Yan teased the young girl at the door, playfully joking with her.

Upon hearing his words, Qingqing vigorously shook her head and corrected him,

"No, Brother Yan. Although I want to play with Jarvis, I also came here to see you."

"Alright, I understand."

After bidding them farewell, Fang Yan returned to his seat and began contemplating his next steps.

The 2.8 million he had "borrowed" from the plug-in maker had been used to create Jarvis. The pressing matter now was to acquire a significant sum of money. Without funds, the other plans would remain mere ideas.

However, the question was how to acquire such an amount. Could he simply go online and steal from users? That was out of the question. Despite his abilities, Fang Yan had no intention of engaging in activities that harmed others for personal gain.

As he was pondering his financial challenge, a news report about a recent robbery caught his attention on TV, abruptly snapping him out of his contemplation.

"Ah, right! If I can't draw too much attention, then I'll use those criminals. After all, their money is ill-gotten gains. Even if I'm operating in the gray area, it's not illegal."

Having made up his mind, Fang Yan directly communicated his plan to Jarvis.

"Jarvis, gather all information about the criminal organizations in Ningcheng for me. The more detailed, the better."

"Understood, sir. Please wait a moment."

After a short pause, Jarvis' voice resounded once more,

"Sir, I have compiled all the information you requested. Please take a look."

On the computer screen, a wealth of information promptly appeared.

Given that floating window technology had yet to be developed, data queries couldn't be as instantaneous as before.

"I never expected there to be so many underground organizations and criminal groups in Ningcheng!"

"It seems I underestimated Ningcheng."

Fang Yan had initially assumed that a small third-tier city like Ningcheng wouldn't harbor many criminal organizations. However, when Jarvis presented the gathered data, he realized just how active the underworld was in the city.

Three major criminal factions held dominance in a triangular power struggle. In addition to them, over a dozen smaller groups vied for influence in various parts of Ningcheng. There were also minor gangs within the city's jurisdiction—though not extensive in reach, they were genuine criminal entities.

Upon further thought, it made sense. The imperial capital and magic capital, for instance, were both under the scrutiny of countless eyes. Any attempt to forcefully seize territory or establish power would be tantamount to courting disaster.

As the saying goes, "Catch the thief to catch the king." There was little use in dealing with the small fry; Fang Yan was aiming for a big score.

"Jarvis, let's start by draining funds from these three major factions!"
