Placing three different-sized omelets onto three different plates, I carried them to the table, where Michelle, Talis, Chloe, and Yuki were sitting; placing the plates in front of the three women, I kissed Michelle's cheek and gently poked Yuki's horn as I returned to the kitchen, where I made four more omelets of various sizes before grabbing a large pan full of scrambled eggs, cheese, sliced potatoes, and pieces of ham. "Sorry, Yuki, but I can't make an omelet large enough to satisfy you, so you'll just have to settle with basic scrambled eggs. Hope you all enjoy." Gently setting down the hefty pan, I handed Yuki a serving while she hungrily licked her lips.
Without even a thank you, Yuki dived into the pan and quickly began devouring breakfast; shaking my head at how animalistic she could be, I raised my head and glanced at the front door when I heard it open. "We're back! Oh, what's that smell? Did you make breakfast!?" Said Vanimo loudly with a smile as he, Lazuli, and Vanye entered the house, skipping into the kitchen, his eyes widened when he spotted everyone else eating. "Yes, so sit down; I'll bring out the food." Using [Blink], I appeared behind Vanimo and pushed him into an empty chair before leaning and kissing Lazuli's cheek while pulling two chairs out for her and Vanye.
Heading back to the kitchen, I grabbed the four plates, carrying them carefully across my arm before placing them in front of Lazuli, Vanye, and Vanimo, while the final one was for me as I sat at the only open seat at the head of the table, which was opposite of Yuki. There wasn't much talking as everyone was entirely focused on eating, causing me to proudly smile, though I eventually broke the silence. "So, how do you two like Cassandra?" Glancing at Vanye and Vanimo, while the latter opted to eat the omelet with his hands, forsaking the utensils, Vanye finally responded after swallowing the food she stuffed into her face.
"It's pleasant. Kind citizens, many stores, um, beautiful roads?" Said Vanye with a small smile as she looked at me while her voice grew hesitant toward the end, causing me to chuckle as I pointed at her with my knife. "Hehe, you and Vanimo haven't lived in a city before, so you don't have much to compare it to, but yes, Cassandra does have rather beautiful roads… Much better than walking on dirt and mud, especially when you go everywhere barefoot." Smirking at Vanye, who awkwardly lowered her head, I waved my knife and continued eating while everyone else was oblivious to our conversation. "I do feel a bit uncomfortable, though; Vanimo was the one who'd always visit the nearby town for supplies, and I tended to stick to the dirty work, so I-I'm not used to being around so many people." Said Vanye softly with a slight frown as she listlessly gazed at her table while taking a bite of food, causing my face to twitch.
"Understandable, though you'll grow accustomed to it, at least I hope you do. I don't know about Elves, but Humans are naturally social creatures, so it's instinctive for us." Nodding at Vanye, I took another bite before using [Expand] on my arm, causing it to lengthen as I used it to flick off her helmet with my knife, revealing her scarred and disfigured face. "Also, no helmets inside; no one is going to judge how you look… Except for Chloe, since she's still a child." "Heb! I'b nob fild! I'm prabitly a abul!" Said Chloe sternly as she eyed, though unfortunately for her, I had no idea what she was saying as her mouth was full of food. "Mhm, sure, whatever you say, Chloe." Dismissing whatever Chloe had just attempted to say, I shifted my gaze to Michelle, who looked utterly adorable since she was trying to eat as fast as possible while maintaining her manners.
"So, Michelle, do you have any plans regarding our wedding? Date? Which church and God? Those sorts of things?" Curiously looking at Michelle, I gently poked her love handles, causing her to shoo my hand away before eagerly nodding. "Yes! I have everything planned and written down in my journal upstairs! Of course, I want you to look through them first. I don't want to do something you wouldn't like." Said Michelle enthusiastically as she looked at me with shining eyes, only for her to slightly furrow her brows, prompting me to grab her hand and kiss it. "Oh please, if you like it, that's all that really matters… Just don't try to spend TOO much; try to keep it like under 10 gold. We're not swimming in gold… Not yet, at least." With a faint smile, I stared into Michelle's eyes, causing her to smile and blow a kiss, only for her to chuckle at my warning.
"Hehe, don't worry, I know; the whole wedding will only cost about 3 Gold." Said Michelle with a lovely smile as she kissed my hand before quickly returning to her food, while I rolled my eyes. 'I love how she talks like three gold is nothing. Well, so long as she likes it, I don't care.' Inwardly chuckling, I glanced at Lazuli, who was the only one finished with her food since, besides Chloe, she had the smallest omelet. "What about you, Lazuli? Do you have any fancy wedding ideas? I'm all ears." I didn't expect much from Lazuli as she wasn't the kind that desired fancy, luxuries, or over-the-top things; so long as everything worked, she was satisfied. 'Now that I think about it, Lazuli is a bit of a tomboy, isn't she? Mhm, maybe; hard to tell.'
"I don't. So long as our wedding is official, and I'm recognized as your Wife, I do not care." Said Lazuli with a slight shake of her head as she gave me a small smile, causing me to sigh as I had a feeling she'd say something like that; though if that's what she really wanted, I would happily oblige, I just wouldn't want her to regret later down the line. "Well, just think about it; you still have time until we marry." Nodding at Lazuli, I spent the remaining few minutes finishing my omelet, which was about three times as large as Lazuli's, making mine the biggest; though if it came to overall food, it was only about a tenth the size of Yuki's.
"Oh, after this, we should get you your adventure license, Vanye; that way, we can go into the City's dungeon and take jobs. I also need to take an advancement test to officially become a B-rank Adventurer; no one takes C-rank adventurers and below seriously." Stretching back in the chair, I glanced at Vanye, who raised an eyebrow before nodding, while Vanimo also nodded. "Oh, can I come?" "Yeah, sure, I don't care. If you want, we can go right now, seeing how we all finished." Yawning, I stood up and pushed my chair in, prompting Vanimo to practically shoot out of his seat in excitement while Vanye had a bit more tact.
"All right, we're leaving, bye! Also, clean up your mess, Yuki!" Removing my apron, I stuffed it into my space pouch and approached the door, though not before narrowing my eyes at Yuki, who nodded without looking up. Sighing to myself as I knew I'd come home to see Michelle cleaning up after her, I left the house with the two siblings, taking the scenic path to the Guild, as it's been a while since I'd been in Cassandra. "Ahh, this feels good… No slaves, no elves giving me looks of disgust; yeah, this is nice." I soaked up the atmosphere of Cassandra with a smile before eventually arriving at the guild, only to spot 'The Beasts', causing me to awkwardly cough, though worst of all, Momo spotted me almost immediately, so I couldn't even pretend I didn't notice them.
Sensing him approach me, I inwardly cursed as I knew he probably wasn't happy about how I sort of brushed Lulu aside right around the month of Chloe, and given his glare, he had quite the vendetta. "H-Hey, Momo, how's it–" With a friendly smile, I waved at Momo, only for a fist to find its way shoved into my stomach, causing me to slightly wince. "Tsk, do you have anything to fucking say for yourself, Alex!? Huh!? Do you know how much pain my sister was in because of you!?" Stated Momo angrily as he grabbed me by the collar and slammed me against the wall, causing me to awkwardly smile as I raised my hands. "Listen, Momo, I know you're mad, but I-I didn't do anything? I already have a wife with two more on the way; I-I just don't see Lulu like that, okay?" Although I tried to make things as clear as possible between us, my words just seemed to further irritate him, though before he could punch me again, a long blade rested against his neck.
"Punch him again, and your head will be on the floor." Glancing at Vanye, I couldn't help but internally sweat as the last thing I wanted was for her to kill someone in the middle of the city, much less inside the Adventure Guild.
"W-Woah, l-let's just all calm down." With a faint smile, I gently pushed away Vanye's sword while releasing Momo's hands from my collar, causing me to sigh in relief. 'That could've been bad.'
