Observers and the Celestial Beings are among the oldest civilisations in the universe, serving it for aeons. Their vast knowledge and advanced technology have been honed over countless years. Yet now, the Celestial Beings have suffered a massive defeat.
The observers, having documented innumerable civilisations and powerful entities across the universe, have witnessed many unimaginable events. But what they saw today challenged their understanding: a human mage receiving the universe's rejection without facing immediate consequences.
"Is he gathering powerful magic?" one observer wondered aloud. The others turned to see Wang Yang seemingly channelling magic in his hands.
"Could he be threatening the universe's will?" They had never seen anyone attempt or succeed in such a feat.
Indeed, Wang Yang was channelling powerful magic, but not in the way the observers speculated.
"Detected cosmic law power, do you wish to fuse?" the system prompted.
"Fuse!" Wang Yang replied without hesitation.
With the cosmic laws invoked by the Celestial leader, the system detected and allowed Wang Yang to assimilate this power. He already possessed the power of a death god, though it paled compared to the universe's might. Typically, anyone rejected by the universe would face insurmountable odds, possibly leading to death, which is why the observers believed Wang Yang wouldn't survive.
However, because Wang Yang wasn't originally from this universe, the cosmic laws couldn't fully affect him. By fusing with the celestial law power, he essentially became part of the universe's structure, similar to an accepted entity. Recognising him as one of its own, the universe ceased its rejection.
Had the Celestial leader known his life-sacrificing curse would not only fail but also benefit Wang Yang, he would have been beyond regretful.
Wang Yang smiled, then looked around at the now empty expanse of space. Only Earth remained intact amidst the void. The battle had destroyed everything else—planets, debris, even the sun.
Without the sun, Earth would have been uninhabitable. Yet, due to Wang Yang's magic, it continued to rotate and sustain life, appearing almost normal. He realised he couldn't always be there to protect Earth, and the destruction of the solar system was a severe issue.
"Should I alter the timeline again?" Wang Yang considered. Although he had previously succeeded in reversing time to save lives, restoring entire planets was far more complex.
"Maybe I need to find the Ancient One. Where could she be now?" Wang Yang thought, feeling stuck. The Ancient One could contact Eternity, whose power could restore the solar system.
Returning to Kamar-Taj, he had tried various methods to no avail. Finding the Ancient One seemed his best option.
As he arrived, Mordo approached. "Wang Yang, the Ancient One is looking for you."
"She's back?" Wang Yang was surprised.
"Yes, what's going on?" Mordo asked, noticing Wang Yang's troubled expression.
"Nothing much," Wang Yang replied, though he couldn't disclose the full extent of the destruction. Soon, he found the Ancient One in her usual tea room, though she wasn't sipping tea but standing with a worried expression.
"You must already know," Wang Yang said, seeing her face.
The Ancient One sighed, "Wang Yang, there's no denying you're the most powerful mage Kamar-Taj has ever seen. But you must be more cautious. The Earth is too fragile for such battles."
She understood the gravity of the situation. Except for Earth, the destruction of the solar system was a grave matter. Had the battle extended further, Earth itself might have been obliterated.
After a moment, she continued, "Do you think you can find Eternity?"
Wang Yang nodded, "Yes, I believe Eternity can restore the universe."
The Ancient One was sceptical but agreed. "Let's hope Eternity isn't as difficult to reach as I fear."
After all, Eternity's power was beyond imagining. Reconstructing planets or even entire solar systems would be within his capabilities. She just hoped there wouldn't be complications.
"After this is fixed, Wang Yang, try to keep things stable. We can't afford more such incidents," she sighed.
