Qin Feng stood silently for a few seconds, his eyes fixed on Su Jiyai's trembling shoulders.
Her sobs were muffled, barely audible, but they hit him harder than any battle roar or explosion.
He had seen her in the arena, fearless and fierce.
He had seen her stand alone against entire squads of enemies without blinking. But now… now she looked like she was falling apart.
He couldn't stand it.
Taking a deep breath, he walked toward her, slowly, carefully, as if approaching a wounded animal.
"Boss Su," he said gently.
Su Jiyai tried to wave him off, wiping her face with the back of her hand. "I'm fine. Just... leave me alone."
"No," Qin Feng said firmly. "You're not fine. And I'm not leaving you like this."
He crouched down beside her, making sure to keep just enough distance so she wouldn't feel crowded.
"You're not alone anymore," he said. "I don't know what happened in that room, but I can guess. He's confused, hurt… but you didn't do anything wrong."
