Ye Muyu sat in the carriage.
She did not get out.
She silently watched the customers lining up outside the store, most of whom were poor people dressed in shabby clothes, with many wearing cotton coats that seemed to have been worn for years, even having stiff patches amidst the black fabric.
She also noted the cloth shoes on most people's feet, many of which were broken; these people were indeed commoners.
Likewise, there were also well-dressed customers waiting in line at the entrance, hoping to make a purchase.
The line was somewhat long, and a man wearing neat cotton clothing shouted discontentedly: "I say, Shopkeeper, how come you do business like this, making us queue for so long without any progress? These commoners can't compare with me, they have no sense at all. I'm almost suffocated by the stench."
As he spoke, he looked around at the commoners in line with disdain in his eyes.
