Misty watched Malory and Kason closely. Even though the passing of Dolus was probably the best thing to happen for a lot of reasons, it still left a bad taste in her mouth. Kason had spent decades under the man's thumb, first through physical abuse and then through the tight reigns of trauma. Malory had spent even longer as a prisoner to his brother. Watching that man breath his last must have been a relief but may have brought forward complicated emotions they were unsure about.
She could see her lover and his father with matching looks of bewilderment and confusion on their countenances. They may not even realize the range of emotions they would need to confront yet. Misty wanted to reassure them, but there were somethings that each person would need to work out for themselves.
