The people at Base Six seemed a bit distracted.
Despite the overcrowded conditions, it was remarkably quiet and even felt somewhat desolate, reminiscent of the time before the Independent Group arrived at Base Six.
The training area was still bustling with people, but the usual shouts were absent. All those training were like robots freshly out of the factory, silently getting acquainted with their bodies. Movements that should have been simple now seemed stiff, as if their joints were rusted.
The instructors, observing these scenes of trainees looking more inexperienced than recruits, did not loudly correct or rebuke. Instead, they occasionally glanced at their bracelets, yet no information was available.
The injured in the medical area were also devoid of the usual liveliness, each as silent as if they had just been injured and realized they might never return to the battlefield.
